Because she said she thought right away she knew he had been abducted.
So abduction, you want to call the police right away. Right ?
The abduction narrative was pushed by the fosters. Why did they think this was likely on the quietest street in the quietest town. They had not heard any car. There they are putting out the early seeds for the abduction theory. And IMO there was collusion between the FM and FGM. And the suspects were lined up. Maybe not collusion, but guess what happened - investigation went down that path and look where that got them.
By the way, it was not "abduction". The party line was "he was taken". FGM said words to the effect in her walkthrough and click, he was taken....my first initial thought he was taken.....

I have no doubt the fosters were pointing the finger at the bio family initially.
Clearly the police were also of the same mind as they were knocking on the bios doors within hours.
The semantics between 'abduction' and 'taken' are interesting.
Abduction means forcibly or unlawfully removed against ones will.
So abduction is not the correct term if William went willingly with someone, e.g. a bio relative or known person.

I don't think 'abduction' was the initial and immediate 'excuse' for William's disappearance, though. I think it was initially a setup to make it look like he wandered off and fallen victim to an accident elsewhere. However, there were a couple of problems with this scenario: His body was too far away from the property for him to have got there by foot, and secondly it was not in a position consistent with a vehicle accident. Thirdly, sniffer dogs did not detect his scent in Benaroon.
So I think a secondary plan was concocted to move his body to where it would never be found, and this is when the abduction theory was propounded, possibly during the night following his disappearance.

I wonder what Michelle White's answer was to NSW Police asking her if William’s foster mother had access to any other cars around the time William was reported missing?

Would the Fosters have been required to notify Michelle/FACS of the details of any vehicles that William or his sister might be transported around in, including vehicles of their relatives.

What Riding School was ‘Right’ on to Batar Creek Road ?
I think the riding school was already non operational at that site in 2014 and was moved to a different address. So there would not have been anyone at the riding school looking after horses etc in 2014. I read something about moving the school but can't find my reference. I do have a photo of the dig at 158 Batar Creek Rd. So as i understood the old riding school was on the corner of Batar Creek and Cobb and Co. So the search, if referred to as Cobb and Co was also the entrance to the riding school. Maybe someone familiar with the area would know.

Edit : Details of picture: "Daily Mail Australia can reveal at least one of the three current police dig sites is on the property where the riding school pictured was located at the time of William’s disappearance

Dumb question. How the heck was Michelle White supposed to know? And no, foster carers are not required to give details of their vehicles to agencies. As if agencies have the time and resources to track that sort of stuff. How about the police do police work and find out about vehicles? That's their job.

Any cliff notes from the last week? This thread is moving so quick 😳
* Truck driver testimony seemingly irrelevant to foster mother body moving theory proposed by police.

* There was no forensic evidence was found of William or William’s remains from the latest search. They found some kangaroo bones.

* No evidence found of William’s clothes or shoes, or any kind of fabric linked to anyone that might be part of the police theory

* Suspicious and unusual phone call recorded of foster mother talking to friend, going pretty specific into body disposal and recovery ideas

* 2014 walk through of child who cannot be named played <closed court>

* Audio of foster mother abusing child who cannot be named played <closed court>

* Video of child who cannot be named played, from 2022 - unclear if that is a police interview or statement but the video was recorded by police <closed court>

* Police lawyers are pressing for an expert witness to provide evidence that William’s remains may have been taken by a fox or a wild animal to be heard in Dec tranche

* Police lawyers are pressing for the foster mother to be ordered to take the stand on the week of 16-20 Dec 2024 and be questioned in the Coroner’s Court

Rowley also testified at the first inquest that the 'whole house' search didn't include the roof space or the garage reasoning that they were too difficult for a 3 year old to access on his own.
Yes, that’s very true. So, so inept and ridiculous was this line of thinking that he had wandered off and that was it. IMO

Surely the original police should have had to consider homicide first and then moved from that point instead of focussing on the wandering off theory.

Also the foster mother knew he had been abducted, so why didn’t they focus more on that angle?

If you are no longer working in the foster care system and don't currently have privy to current NSW FACS foster care policies and guidelines, how can you be 100% sure of your above assertion, that might have applied historically, but possibly no longer apply if changes have been made to foster care related policies.?

The riding school relocated in 2017.

Ok. I will clarify. It's my understanding based on personal experience that this is the case, and was the case in 2014. If you are able to show that my understanding is incorrect, please do so.
Do you have any reason to challenge this, other than for the sake of an argument?

I recall reading somewhere that they frequently communicated with each other in relation to issues with William's behavior back in 2014.

On a side note, but vehicle related, an unlikely, but possible scenario just occurred to me, where the FGM might have had pre-arranged with her neighbours, access to any of the neighbours homes whilst they were away, to assist feed pets, water gardens, remove dog poo and bindies, clean swim pools, or do repair or maintenance work. Or to let others into the neighbours property to assist with any these tasks. And if she did, whether this might have enabled the foster mother or foster father to somehow possibly use one of the neighbours vehicles (or motorbikes) on the day that William went missing.

I wonder what Michelle White's answer was to NSW Police asking her if William’s foster mother had access to any other cars around the time William was reported missing?

Do we know if the foster grandfather's car was in the garage?

This seems like a silly question because surely we'd have heard of it before and if a car's been sitting for a while, they usually need a jump start so she probably wouldn't have taken that even if it was still there.

The cops might want to rule out access to another vehicle she could potentially have driven back to Kendall in, unnoticed.

No reason, other than to get clarification on what you have clarified in your post, and to point out that hopefully there have been improvements within NSW FACS in relation to fostering, in the last 10 years.

The above post has me wondering if the FM ever went back to Kendall after William disappeared and how many times.

Kate McCann regularly visited Portugal, still does faik and she goes on her own. She's quite well liked by the locals.

Note, I've never thought the McCanns had anything to do with Madeleine's disappearance.

No agree, other than leaving them in the unit unsupervised.

Yep, that abducted theory doesn't fit with her actions.
Yep. They didn't think through that one, did they. IMO.

But the original narrative maybe they did (if going on FM's first statement.) There was a pretty tight time line. Williams runs to front of house, out of sight for just a few or maybe 5 minutes, FM walks to front of house, back up other side of house looking and calling, FM back into house. FM statement ."..I kept looking and it was only minutes and FF arrived in the driveway...." So in this version, not much time to call FF.

It seems that adding the (confusing ) drive put the timeline out, and made it longer between William's disappearance and FF returning. Certainly long enough for FM or FGM to ring FF and get hime to come home. So now the tears.

She could have rented a car.

Do you know how hard it is to track a rental on the highway and then tie it back to a customer?

When you don’t know what time frame your looking into?

Also, the FF bought and sold second hand vehicles for his work about 3 years ago.

She would have had a lot of access to vehicles, right?

So very insightful & well written. . I hope the fact that I ‘snipped’ is ok.

I also hope that you’re wrong, while I admit that almost from the outset I puzzled over the ‘media involvement’ and perhaps the reach of the FP’s associations. This week’s inquest had me questioning from the start whether it reached as high as the coronial courts !
So then I question myself - but something doesn’t feel right.

A little boy’s life cannot be allowed to simple be ego driven collateral damage. I hope there’s someone here who has access to ‘powerful people’ so this possibility can be thoroughly checked.

Re Craddock - his site tells a good story, he’s a master of manner things ( or is that a Jack-of-all-Trades, Master of None ?)

I’ve witnessed over my working life that it’s the best story tellers who get the adulation / promotions, not the ones who the job correctly - or even the ones who do the job!
Thanks for clipping: It needed a good trim!! Thanks for your thoughts.

Yes he is an all-rounder.

The foster family went back to Kendall (God I’m still pronouncing it Ken-Darlll after listening to the 2GB grab of the truck driver witness) at Christmas time in 2014 and picked up some presents for William from the community.

I don’t know that she ever went back to Kendall proper again.

Her mother moved to a town a little way away, so I wonder if foster mum visited her at her new digs, and if she made any stops to the Kendall outskirts on these visits.

Perfect excuse to do a bit of fossicking around the wider area near Kendall: Oh I’m just visiting mum.
