Now that it has been revealed that the Foster parents 2 homes were both covertly video and audio bugged, and assuming that neither foster parent was aware of this, that would increase the likelihood that the Fosters might have been recorded discussing what happened to William.

William Tyrrell’s foster mother has called for police to focus on finding the missing child after she was found not guilty of lying to the Crime Commission about allegedly hitting another foster child with a wooden spoon.
“With this behind me, I hope the police focus on finding William and what happened to him,” the woman said outside court on Friday through tears.
The woman, who can only be identified as SD under a suppression order, was hauled before the secretive crime-fighting body to answer questions about the disappearance of William, the nation’s most high-profile missing person case.
William’s body has never been found, and SD and her husband – who also cannot be identified – were made to appear before the Crime Commission to testify.
Magistrate Miranda Moody could not discount the possibility SD was mistaken, not lying, when she told the Crime Commission – whose remit is to investigate serious crimes such as homicides – that she had not hit the 10-year-old foster child with a wooden spoon.
In finding SD not guilty, Moody said the 57-year-old was in a “distressed state” and “aghast” at the suggestion she had dumped William’s body after he had accidentally died.
SD readily admitted to the Crime Commission she had hit and kicked the 10-year-old, the court heard on Friday.
“These are serious admissions for a foster parent to make. Kicking is almost worse than having a child put their hand out to be hit with a wooden spoon,” Moody said.
Police had bugged the foster mother’s home and tapped her and her husband’s mobile phones; harrowing secret tapes played to the court allegedly recorded the child screaming “no, please, no” and sobbing as she was allegedly hit by the spoon.
Another secret tape allegedly recorded SD telling her husband she had hit the child with “that wooden spoon” and the child was “going to have a massive welt on her leg”.
SD is also charged with two counts of common assault and two counts of intimidation that relate to the 10-year-old girl. She remains before the courts on those charges, having failed in a bid to have them dismissed under mental health legislation earlier this year. In July last year, the couple had a six-year-old female foster child placed into their care.......... why were these people allowed to have another foster kid in their care IF she is allegedly suffering mental health issues? Who was the establishment that gave this little kid to these people without doing through checks, especially mental health ailments - or did the mental health card only get played because she wanted the charges dismissed.
“Since her arrival, the [alleged] victim has been vocal in her disapproval in having the younger child [at the home] due to feeling left out... It seems that the alleged victim began to act up.”
SD allegedly hit the girl with a wooden spoon on one occasion, and on another kicked her to the left thigh.

“[The] allegations by SD that the child was misbehaving are not supported,” the police prosecutor said in response.
“The intimidation relates to an ongoing [alleged] pattern of violence.”
SD appeared in Parramatta Local Court flanked by her husband and a friend.
In applying for the case to be dealt with under mental health legislation, her lawyer Sharon Ramsden said it is “unlikely if not impossible” for SD to commit another similar offence.
Both children have been removed from her care, with Magistrate Feather noting she is unlikely to be a foster carer in the future.

The lying to the commission charges related to both the foster parents denying hitting a child with a wooden spoon due to their' confusion' The assault charges still stand and will be heard in court in January next year. . In late October both were also to attend Hornsby court on fraud charges....
William’s foster mother and father on Friday entered not guilty pleas to fraud charges.

Both have been charged with one count of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, with police alleging they had someone make fake bids on a house in Sydney at auction. A serious charge which can result in up to 10 years imprisonment.

In Hornsby Local Court on Friday, solicitors for the pair entered not guilty pleas on their behalf.

They will appear again in court later this month when a hearing date will be fixed.

There has been a “major stuff-up” in the investigation into the disappearance of William Tyrrell, where police have been under pressure to get outcomes not possible without “eroding due process”, a former police officer and criminologist says.

Dr Michael Kennedy, now Associate Professor at the University of New England, said the eight-year investigation into the disappearance of the boy was “a classic example of chaos in a matter where the end doesn’t justify the means”.

Dr Kennedy was speaking after a Sydney magistrate found William’s foster mother not guilty of knowingly giving false or misleading evidence during a secret hearing of the NSW Crime Commission.

The 57-year-old woman held back tears outside court after being acquitted, saying she hoped the police would now “focus on finding William and what happened to him”.

The woman, who cannot be identified, was hauled before the NSW Crime Commission to answer questions about the disappearance of William from Kendall on September 12, 2014.

In November 2021, then-NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller told 2GB: “There is one person in particular we are looking closely at.”

In court this week, a senior detective revealed police believed William’s foster mother knew where he was buried.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Lonergan told the court that he believed William had been buried in an area on the corner of Batar Creek Rd and Cobb and Co Rd on the outskirts of Kendall.

The area was searched by police and volunteers last year but they found no evidence.

Police this week would not comment on what this meant to their investigation — given they claimed they knew where the body was. The search has been suspended.

There has been no evidence made public that implicates William’s foster mother and she strenuously denies any involvement or wrongdoing. She has never been charged in relation to William’s disappearance.

Dr Kennedy said NSW had “gone down the path of eroding due process for the sake of getting an outcome”.

“There’s been a major stuff up and police have been expected to get outcomes that aren’t possible,” he said.

“We need to revert back to a time where police were able to be in control of their own investigations and you couldn’t put pressure on them to get outcomes because it worked politically.

“If that means a case remains unsolved then so be it, the end doesn’t justify the means.

“This is not just about protecting a victim, it’s about protecting everybody. And everybody deserves the presumption of innocence.”

Dr Kennedy said it was “wrong” to say there was one suspect. Everyone should be considered a suspect until a case is solved, he said.

He also called on the NSW Crime Commission to explain its role in the matter.

“It needs to explain itself and who agreed to this course of action but it never will,” he said.

“Rather than attack an individual copper involved, why don’t we attack the system and say this is prevalent across the board, this eroding due process.”

Police investigating the disappearance declined to comment on this week’s revelations in court or the status of the investigation.

“As there are ongoing criminal proceedings and the matter also remains subject to a coronial inquest, we will not be providing further comment,” a police spokeswoman said, referring The Telegraph to the statement issued by Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty in September.

“Every effort is — and should be — channelled toward finding William Tyrrell.

“The Homicide Squad’s Strike Force Rosann is continuing to prepare a brief for the information of the Coroner for the purpose of determining what happened to William eight years ago.

“Our investigation is very much active and ongoing, and while I won’t go into specifics, I can assure the community that various activities, including those under Coronial Orders, are being undertaken every day.”'

It was reported today ... that Dept Communities & Justice (the part that would have been known as FACS back in 2014) was not notified immediately about the assault (hit with spoon) on the child because of Police surveillance on the home. If this today's media court reporting is correct .... that might not be the last we hear of this reported delay in reporting the incident.

This might be explained if it took some time after any covert recordings were made, before anybody listened back to them.
And that no one was listening to any or some of what was being audio or video recorded, in real time (as it was being recorded).

Which raises the question of if there was not 24/7 100% real time human monitoring of what was going on in the Fosters house from every one of the covert audio and video recording devices, whilst there were any children in or around the property, what risks might that have been putting those children at, and who and who didn't know about the risks being taken, and who signed off on this.

The allegations against foster parents are so difficult and sickening to read. LT’s welts and bruising would have disappeared, but the events of this day will be etched in LT’s memory for ever. Shameful and disgusting behaviour towards a 10 year old girl. No sympathy for them whatsoever.

One thing which hasn't been divulged is the whereabouts of the FP's third child while the assault(s) on LT were happening. We are told the introduction of this new child led to LT's alleged behaviour. This child was of school age, so if LT was home, the new child would have been too. What a horrific introduction to a new life in a 'safe place' with these nice people. Surely there are charges to accommodate this scenario.

Knowing what we do now, l'm thinking LT's desperate cries "l'm calling the police" could well have been because they all knew what happened to her brother and she was threatening to break ranks to avoid being hit and hurt. She was only ten.

Psychological statistics/family dynamics show that parents who use excessive disciplinary practices on their children will do this with all their children. It runs in families. Stats also show that kids much more at risk of excessive punishment are stepchildren or those in care. Often, the child who has the misfortune to cop it the worst is the kid who aggravates the adult, or the one with whom the parent/carer has failed to bond.

So one poor kid has a "massive welt". Sounds like a badge of honour of sorts. Goodness knows what welts William endured as the underdog; the little rascal who couldn't keep still. No wonder his little body was hidden and no help sought for him.

I have an uneasy feeling the FPswill get away with this.

The (alleged) victim is reported to have tried to get up a number of times but (SD) forced her to sit down.”

The report states police will allege the child was “pleading” with SD to stop while the two defendants allegedly subjected her to a 15-minute “tirade of verbal abuse”. The report then states that according to additional facts provided by police, the alleged victim spoke to her schoolteacher and “expressed being afraid to return home”.

“Further, the facts note that SD suggests to the child that if the (child) was to defecate on the floor, she would rub the child’s face in it,” the report states.

The report continues, saying that the facts stated police will allege SD hit the child with a wooden spoon.

This latest revelation can be revealed as both parents are also facing charges related to giving false or misleading evidence to the NSW Crime Commission. They have pleaded not guilty and their matters are listed for hearing in October and November. The commission has extraordinary powers forcing people to attend secret hearings and answer questions. The assault proceedings against JS have been listed for hearing on January 16 next year.

I like Pat Brown's theory that the Foster Mothers claim of William's Tiger roar, was made up the Foster Mother, to possibly explain the sound William made when he fell off the balcony. (if he did go over the balcony)

Noting that William going over the balcony, could have involved William being pushed, accidentally falling over by himself, during a conflict, or running away from someone in fear or play.

The foster daughter said that's what he'd been doing 'rarrrr!' although, I had felt that the short scream the FM said she thought she heard and had her looking around in the bushes, was the noise he made as he fell. Then there was silence like she said 'nothing, there was nothing'. I think that's probably why it's convincing, as genuine recall.

Could that be because the foster daughter was told by the foster mum or the foster grandmum that this was what William had been doing (rarrrr'ing), as opposed to her actually hearing/witnessing the rarrrr'ing first hand, happening where and when the rarrr'ing was claimed to have happened.

This thread is a pretty good record, it all started in around September 2021. That's when the police said they had new information and they leaked that a new suspect would be interviewed around the same time.
