Have played against Emmaus a number of times and they have been one of our great rivals over the years! Great club with great people. Spewing they have gone up (one of our local road trips from Aquinas) but also happy as we don't have to face them next year!

Cosmo, you are a silly silly boy! Should have improved your opposite foot and you may have got a game!! Sure you were great at running water though?!

Indulge me.... silly silly boy?? You are right my left was never one of my strong points.

How much is the St. Leos coach on? Hard to judge without the figure.

Can't understand how you can criticise a coach that loses only one game for the year, by one point! Would you be happy if he had run onto the ground in the last five minutes, taken a hanger and slotted the match winner from 50 out?

Give the bloke a spell, he's done well and your sour grapes are obvious.

My view: a quality senior coach should be paid at least $15,000 per year. It's a massive time commitment.

Pay peanuts, get monkeys.

Agree with that - 25k if the ad on SFL website was anything to go by..... but I could be wrong.

$25k????
You've got to be kidding. Happy to be proved wrong but I could only see 1 maybe 2 in the divisions of the VAFA paying that. Maybe in the Premier Divisions, but $25k in Div 3?

Not for mine.

I met an umpire that claimed to have made $9k in a season tax free working games across different leagues. Coaches should all get more than that, considering the outlay of time and materials that goes into it.... Unless of course they're volunteering.

He must have been doing 3-4-5 (senior) games per week every week to be getting that sort of coin.

I never mentioned those teams, did I???

No. I'm just saying I have knowledge of 3 top tier teams who go nowhere near 65k. 45-50k south of that. So I'm guessing if you know of a top tier team that paid 65k perhaps it was OI as you would know. I'm struggling to think who it would be? Any clues? Seems outrageous.
