FWIW I find most people who don't use mind altering substances to be quite boring. Not a hard and fast rule but I've yet to strike up a close friendship with someone who doesn't at least drink.

I'm no staunch anti-druggy but my experience with people who use hallucinogens and eccys regularly has been the opposite. Folks who rely on getting out of their mind to enjoy a night out or in generally have very few worthwhile things to say. I don't find pseudo-philosophy and half baked world views all that enthralling. This extends to people who can't do anything without getting smashed on booze.

maybe and I'm only guessing, she realized the bullshit she was being taught at that school? The bullshit peer pressure being in such a school, how to get the top you gotta tread on other people. The drugs helped her escape that pain. because it is pain, it's horrible when see how cruel the mob is,the mentality they have, the hypocrisy.

what a load of shit. I agree that the reason that someone takes drugs is more complex than 'shes a spoiled brat' but theres nothing more obnoxious than someone pretending they take drugs because they are morally above the world.

she was a "spoiled brat" in that she had a ridiculous amount of $$$ thrown at her and little respect for anybody. This is how she could afford to purchase drugs in the first place.

The experience is beyond words. I highly recommend it.

I really really REALLY want to do an ayahuasca ceremony. I'll eventually get to south america but i can't wait that long. I want to do one here.
You listen to Joe Rogan or David Choe? Sounds real interesting/incredible. David Choe explains it in huge detail. Want the link?

Honestly, I shake my head at all the people in here back-slapping each other about how cool, good, safe, etc it is to take drugs. And how people who don't are idiots, losers, prudes, etc.

ALL drugs are bad. Anything the body NATURALLY produces is not a drug. Drugs are an external thing brought into the body, and they ALL have long-lasting effects. They all cause imbalances in the finely-tuned chemical make-up of the brain, and body.

So by that logic DMT isn't a drug. DMT is produced when you're born, and when you die. Also in tiny amounts when you dream.
Do some research homie

I think in a lot of cases you are predisposed when it comes to addiction - whether it be drugs, alcohol, sex, Big macs, coffee etc You just don't know if you are going to be that person until you try it.

I don't make a conscious choice not to drink - I can take it or leave it. I am thankful that I am not the person who craves a drink, a sedative or a stimulant. I'm far from "perfect" as well.

Yes we all have a choice, but sometimes poor genetics or situations/life experiences make us more vulnerable. It's sad when you get to watch someone self distruct (Ben Cousins is a great example), and as a fellow human you know you can do little about it.

So is testosterone, estrogen, etc. But you can obviously take supplements that put too much in your system, with unnatural (in excess) affects. If your car needs ultimate petrol you don't shove ethanol into it. You take care of your precious $40k+ automobile. The brain especially is a finely-tuned machine of chemistry, of neurotransmitters and neuromodulators, naturally producing measured amounts of hormones. Messing with that (the brain) is a massive risk, considering how difficult and deep it is to fix, probably never, and how much Life itself is based on mental faculties.

what does Psilocybin do?

Naturally occurring psychoactive in drugs like mushies.

God wanted us to trip - he was probably hoping we wouldn't kill each other as often as we do.

Fundamentalists decided drugs were evil but religious slaughter was holy though.

where does Kava fit in to it? :)

The same as weed and psilocybin - I like to believe in a God that gives us awesome shit to experiment with our consciousness.

That's what I'd do if I was a God. Separates the interesting people from the eagle supporting drones.

I'm pretty open to the idea of reincarnation tbh, I have weird feelings about random shit like that I may have been a slave in the Egyptian era.

And if I'm wrong? Who gives a f**k, I'll be rotting in the dirt with the rest of you.

does this mean I have to change footy team? :)

Have you tried Kava at least?
no - but going to Fiji in a couple of weeks time and it is offered on one of the tours.

I'm pretty conservative - have only tried aspirin, alcohol, caffeine, nitrous oxide (had a gay male ballroom dancing partner who was hooked on it and offered it to me - did nothing), and codeine...aren't I a barrel of fun? :)

I think I like the feeling of being lucid/in control..

I love rollercoasters :)

I have seen some of his youtubes on it but can you post it anyway just in case i haven't seen that one.

100% correct, DMT is in animals and plants.

Comparing alcohol and psychedelics is apples and oranges. The risks are very different and as such, people are wary of them for different reasons. There is nothing inherently wrong with thinking alcohol is fine and psychedelics are bad, or vice versa. It mostly depends on what sort of risks you view as acceptable.

Elaborate please.

What's to elaborate on? Different drugs have different types of risks. What drugs people view as 'good' and 'bad' tends to depend on what sort of risks they view as acceptable.

Well, what are the different risks?

Very keen to try DMT.

Tried 25ci a couple of weeks ago and had it was an amazing experience.

Took acid a few times back in uni and the first one I took (a microdot) was a mindblowing experience, the other couple of ones I took were pretty average so didn't bother with them again, especially when were they were about 50 bucks a pop. Much cheaper just to smoke dope.

You should see how cheap a tab is now :thumbsu:
