Psychedelics don't trigger psychotic breaks.

Of course they do. Any hallucinogen has the capacity to. I'm not saying it's particularly prevalent, or occurs for everybody, but it's certainly a risk factor. And even if it's very small, the mere possibility is scary enough for a lot of people to turn them right off it.

I'm not hugely knowledgeable on the subject so I don't really want to get into an in-depth discussion on the merits of various drugs. But it would be naive to claim that any psychoactive drug is without risks, or that all drugs have the same risks, or that all people's attitudes to those risks are or should be the same.

Typical Caesar, in this case though you even admit that you don't know what you're talking about but continue to decree incorrect information on the subject.

Unbelievable at how many people lack the cognitive capacity to differentiate between a heroin or ice junky and someone who uses psychedelics.

DMT is to heroin as orange juice is to alcohol. Why outlaw something that is relatively harmless and non-addictive? If it was called a vitamin instead of a drug you wouldn't have problem with it.

Anyway, I refuse to let another man tell me what I can and can't do. I'll continue to explore the realms of DMT and feel sorry for the people too scared to try it. How's Australian Idol going for you?

Let's be clear here - DMT is no joke and should never be taken lightly. It's certainly not for everyone.

Have you ever taken it?

I suspect that you're repeating what you've been taught to think because you lack the capacity to question anything you've been told. Too many of you around.

Ugh, this thread is the worst.

Recommending DMT to everyone, all drugs are bad, our body/brain is a finely tuned machine that you should never mess with, the back slapping, bragging, generalisations, comparisons. Dear lord.

I heard only incredibly intelligent people do drugs, infact I only associate with drug users as they are on a different emotional level than anyone else. It should be mandatory for everyone to try hallucinogens, maybe not everyone but definitely for important people like the Prime Minister.

No, but I've done a lot of research and investigation into it. I'm certainly pro-drugs and pro-choice.

Thanks for bundling me into that category simply because I have a slightly different opinion to you :thumbsu:

Agree. It's price and scarcity are a deterrent in themselves. I've also watched a whole room of people burn it all up instead of slow cooking it and getting no effects at all.

I think it's education. As human's we should be able to make our own decisions... The world is becoming more of a police state every day. We're losing the right to choice and that really pisses me off.

As for triggering psychotic episodes? Sure. I can see that. But I think these were mostly underlying problems caused by artificial factors. Antidepressants, sleeping pills, preservatives, chemicals in our foods, violence on tv, shallow pop-culture... These can't be good for our mental health. DMT is natural at least, and already present in our blood streams. It's the crap being put into us that isn't natural that bothers me. The billion dollar pharmaceutical industry feeding us drugs we don't need won't ever be blamed though.

There is no Australian Idol anymore.

You need to lay off the psychedelics man

You're the one who came into this thread reacting hysterically to anyone with a different opinion to you.

Deadset nicky, you don't need to be an expert in pharmacology to know this stuff. Google "hallucinogens" and "psychotic breaks", and you'll get a bunch of people on drug forums discussing it. They all freely acknowledge it is a risk. But I guess you did shrooms in an ashram with someone called Star Halo who said it couldn't happen, and you were fine, so good for you. :thumbsu:

Don't get me wrong, from what little I know about psychotropics I get the impression that the dangers are vastly exaggerated and/or badly misrepresented. But there's no need to go around pretending that risks don't exist at all.

The friends I do them with are some of the most intelligent, emotionally balanced and open-minded people I've ever met. We don't use them to "escape" but for the experience. We all have what a normal person would call a happy and successful life.. We're not all junkies. We're well educated, have good jobs, great families and stable relationships. Does this shock people?

You are such a small and petty man.

They are exaggerated and misrepresented. However, i acknowledge that people with underlying mental issues should probably think long and hard before consuming psychadelics. It's a shame though because they are awesome.

No.

Does this shock you?

Yes, I'm clearly hysterical.

You're one of the worst kinds of drug user - thoughtlessly recommending things to any one that will listen. No wonder drug takers get a bad name and image.

Why?

There's a naturally occuring substance that allows you to see things beyond your wildest imagination. You should be commending me on my generousity of spirit for sharing this with the GD board.

...thanks? o_O

Oh finally, some word of warning in post number 145 from the TS.

Not really a word of warning at all.... never mind.

Seriously though, you are an hysterical guy. So what that i started a thread about DMT. You're behaving like everyone reading has underlying mental issues as well as the contacts to get themselves some DMT.

No risk here at all. You're just a moral highground junkie which is worse than a heroin one imo.
