I think they do. Won't fix everything, but they do need a boost. Had a shocking draw to start the year, but are now getting flogged by a fairly average Collingwood side. Think if the AFL is serious about footy in QLD and the Lions don't have a dramatic turnaround between now and round 23, they need draft assistance.

No they don't deserve it. You think the afl helped any victorian side while they were down?? No. They can cop it like all of us. Glad we are smashing them tonight. ******* loving every second .

I agree. They dug themselves into this hole by mortgaging their future back in 09, and sacking their coach when they were finally getting it together, causing a mass exodus of players.

They can get themselves out of this mess like every other club had to.

I'm pretty sure Melbourne and Carlton have had priority picks.

Pretty sure. Might want to do some research on that.

Since 2004 (12 years+) Brisbane & Melbourne have been easily the 2 worst performed sides in the comp.

Very much worse than the next 2 - Richmond & Carlton even.

I'm pretty sure Melbourne at least has had a priority pick in that time.

What happened to Collingwood in 2005 anyway? Didn't they have a bonus high draft pick as well? How did the Pies get 2 picks in the Top 5?!?!?

Not to mention that the AFL went out of it's way to revamp Melbourne from the top down and paid Roos a fair bit to coach Melbourne.

Seem to remember Collingwood benefiting from a priority pick....

But let's not let facts get in the way here.

No PPs handed out since 2009. None handed out under the changed rules.

Frankly if you were told your club would win 3 flags in a row then bottom out for the next decade and a half you would take it or nah?

Surely any success is a good thing even when it goes away, and can always live on the memory of coming as close as anyone to equalling the 4 in a row of Collingwood.
