10 games at home next year.

So the odd one out next year will be v Hawks on Easter Monday. 2026 will prob be against Collingwood.

They should only play at the G no more than twice then, just like the rest of us.

With 10 homes games in Geelong, the perfect Geelong scenario is

10 GMHBA
8 MCG
4 Interstate
1 Gather Round

2024 was
9 GMHBA
6 MCG
6 Interstate
1 Marvel
1 Gather Round

Give them
10 at Victoria Norwood
2 MCG
4 Marvel
6 interstate
1 gather round

If you want to gift them top 4 every season then your suggestion works.

If you want to gift us top four every season, based on the last 18 seasons worth of evidence, just give us a normal schedule and we will more than likely achieve it no matter how much you want to cry about it

Seems a bit counter intuitive then that your club is asking for more Norwood games.

It is about enticing new people to the game, not just catering for the 36k current members. Having a presence in the area and increasing exposure to the code. If Geelong fans want to see finals at GMHBA there's always the GFL.
That is a ridiculous response. You are basically advocating for discrimination against Geelong and seem ok with it.

Do you know of what would entice new supporters to the game? Playing a pies vs bombers prelim final in Sydney. Or new york.

When has Geelong ever played finals at KP apart from 2013?

Finals have always been played at the MCG or VFL park. The VFL/AFL have always hosted finals at the grounds with the highest capacity in Victoria, to ensure the most fans can attend the game. It has nothing to do with discrimination against Geelong

Counter intuitive to what? The reasons YOU think we are asking for them?

Pretty sure the think tank hasn’t sat around going ‘well hang on we need some assistance with our results because we’ve struggled to make finals. better get more home games’ and the decided to ask for more.

Fact is even if you remove the absolute peak era or 07-11 we’ve still been winning interstate, Marvel and MCG at a rate good enough to keep making finals even if you remove our KP results no matter how much you want to moan about it.

Requesting an extra game at home isn’t ’counter Intuitive’ to that. We make more money playing at home. Why wouldn’t they want to have more games there

I always find these threads funny. Supporters of MCG tenant teams (especially Pies, Tigers and Hawks) always adamantly against the idea of Geelong getting home games at KP. Supporters of interstate and Marvel tenants like the idea knowing it'll force the MCG tenants to have to actually play there.

The only winners of forcing Geelong to play home games at the MCG are MCG tenants

If only it would force the MCG teams to play there. We all know that the non vic teams will continue to travel there every year instead though.

It's entertainment Seeds. You think West Coast don't feel discriminated against travelling so far each season? You think teams who have to double up against top 8 sides don't feel discriminated against? Sunday twilight clubs with no blockbusters...

As they are geographically located where they are geographically located, I find it hard to think of a single circumstance in which you could class that as ‘discrimination.’

‘We demand you move us closer to the other cities.’

Most are all for it. However, most have issues with a team getting the benefits of a distinct home ground advantage due to terrible ground dimensions, whilst also having the advantage of playing the majority of their away games an hour down the road.

A bit different to the interstate teams who do have distinct advantages of ground dimensions and a provocial crowd, but that's offset by actually having to travel.

The mcg and docklands tenants may play a lot of games at their grounds, but most of those games are distinctly neutral.
