Do Geelong deserve to host every home game + home final at Kardinia Park?

Geelong makes more from a sold out KP than they do from a sold out MCG because of ownership/division of profits and whatnot. However even the most rusted on Cats fan would rather a big final like that played at the MCG in front of 93k than at home in front of 40k

This is true but its all a bit moot for finals - they are the AFL's little cash cow. The participating teams get something out of it no doubt, but it's not like a home game where the home team gets the gate takings etc

Didn't realise that, interesting. Admittedly if playing at home in front of 40k gives you a higher chance of say making the Grand Final, I'd opt for that.

In saying that, having the MCG as a second home is a pretty nice advantage for the Cats in general, especially against interstate sides + being the venue of the Grand Final.

So if western sydney fans cant travel 25 mins on a train then how can geelong fans be expected to travel for over an hour plus.

Geelong Finish 1,2,5 or 6 and get drawn to play Gold Coast,GWS then yes to Home Final but if other interstate clubs get to host in the 1st week then Geelong will play at MCG due to contracts that are in place.
But remember Geelong if you do get a game to host in the Finals not all Geelong Fans will be able to get a seat due to whoever you play getting seats so instead of it been 99.9% of the crowd for Geelong could be a 80% crowd and let’s not forget the last time you had a Final at your ground.

Im happy with 80 percent.

Last time we had a final we lost hawkins before the game, had no fit ruckman, played chapman as a sub and had 3 players get injuries during the game.

Good on Geelong for getting an extra game in Geelong. Happy for them to have all 11 there as long as they understand that you cannot play a marquee game like Easter Monday in front of 35k.

Either Hawks host every year, or we switch out the Cats and bring in a big club like Carlton.
