Honestly don't know what to make of it. Both sides a long way from full strength. Reckon our lot will come out pretty hard but won't be comfortable no matter if we get a decent lead. Hawks seem to be able to run you down from anywhere. Hopefully its a thriller.

This is an interesting day. I'm not sure if I should go out without a jacket. I need to do the washing but I can't be bothered. The only jacket that's clean or not at a friend's place is seemingly too heavy to wear. I'm at sixes and sevens to the extent I'm probably just a 6.5. The weather's curious, grey but the air probably the epitome of "yeah." It's a 6.5. All my Hawks supporting mates are too intimidated to hear the roar of the 2,000 strong strong Freo contingent, so they're currently flicking through their notebook of "reasons not to go to the footy because we might lose," trying to get an excuse. Unfortunately this book is about nine years old and so examples range from "oh I know Shane Crawford's girlfriend because we went to school together and I don't want to bump into her at the AFL Members" to "I hate Colonial Stadium."

In essence, it's a strange day for a big game. Unsettling. Removed. No nerves.

Do I wear a beanie? Or go the cap?

I don't think Crowley will go to Mitchell either way. At least, I'd prefer to see him go to Burgoyne and Suban to Mitchell. If Mitchell doesn't play they bring in Hallahan or Wanganeen and that's a significant change however you look at it.
