I said it was from my TV - I took the picture 2 minutes ago

Yeah weird. When I just Googled Doctor Who Classic it comes up as saying Disney+ but what it clearly means is that current Doctor Who is on D+, but clearly some sources are blending the two unintentionally. It's reasonably rare I suppose for a TV show to be so distinctly split into 'versions' as Doctor Who is so I'm sure a lot of search engines don't know how to differentiate.

But it's never been on D+ which was the initial point, nor is 'NuWho' on iView or D+, that's on Stan, as you pointed out before. I just had a look and Pluto TV isn't available in Aus so don't think there's any way to watch it.

Stan, incidentally, used to have a limited set of Classic Who stories, and may still? I don't have Stan at the moment.

ABC iView currently has Seasons 2, 4, 5 and 6 of NuWho (Tennant & Smith), plus the following specials:
  • A Christmas Carol
  • Planet of the Dead
  • Voyage of the Damned
  • The Next Doctor
  • The Waters of Mars
  • The End of Time
https://iview.abc.net.au/show/doctor-who/series/2

... none of which helps the poor bastard trying to track down Peter Davidson episodes from the Classic Who era.

Interesting, thought the last time I checked it that it had all been removed. Stand corrected.

Best not to rely on streaming.

Download some torrents - or buy DVDs - and keep them for life instead of some temporary streaming deal.

The Classic Series Collection Blu Ray box sets are the best/definitive way to watch Classic Who.

Can't wait for season 25 set to come out in a few weeks time !

Agree.

Davison gets some underrated stories; kinda, the visitation, Earthshock enlightenment, frontios, planet of fire. Caves of Androzani is a classic. My second favourite.
I disagree with this, those stories are generally highly rated.

Problem is there is so much crap elsewhere over his 3 seasons, the middle one in particular.

Incredibly disappointing given how it was capable of great things when it ocassionally all come together.

I'm nearing the end of season 20 at the moment and finding it a lot more enjoyable than 19 on the whole. I know Terminus gets a lot of hate but it's actually quite well-written, merely let down by some questionable design choices. Arc is pretty bad and I remember King's Demons as being very underwhelming but nothing as excruciating as Four to Doomsday, Black Orchid or Time-Flight. Peter and Janet have settled into their roles a lot more too.

Kinda and Earthshock are exceptional but the rest of Season 19 is a bit gruelling for me.

Fair bump that.

Frontios and Planet of fire are underrated.

The concept behind Terminus is very good. The problem isn’t the story, it’s the acting, the costumes, the plot basically writing out Tegan and Turlough and the supporting characters.

It’s a big missed opportunity. Pretty sure there were strikes on across the country and from memory Davison was getting a bit frustrated with things.

I thought the performances in Terminus were pretty good. Olvir's "We're all going to diIIIIE" cliffhanger is a bit OTT but not all that bad.

Season 21 is my favourite Davison season. It was him finally growing and settling in as The Doctor and all of the stories are interesting and different (yes even Twin Dilemma)

Frontios is probably my favourite 5th Doctor story, an excellent, tense story with fantastic nuanced performances from Davison and Mark Strickson.

Resurrection is a mess, but Tegan gets a very good and heartbreaking farewell scene.

Terminus was probably too hard sci-fi with an setting that the budget couldn't afford to at the time

(The Target Novelisation audio book of Terminus with new material added by author and script writer Stephen Gallagher is very enjoyable and infinitely superior to the TV version)

Eric Saward commissioned a lot of scripts in the Davison era that could not possibly be done properly even if they had a Hollywood budget aka Time-Flight

I swear I am the only Dr Who fan in the universe who loves Black Orchid! From Nyssa doing the Charleston to the Doctor's pace bowling, that was a great yarn, only let down by the mad brother in the attic.

Now Four to Doomsday was bad, I agree. The idea that 1980s Tegan could speak a 20,000 year old Aboriginal dialect, simply because she was from Brisbane, was laughably cringe.

And since we're discussing Season's 19 and 20...

Castrovalva - meh
Four to Doomsday - horribly bad
Kinda - liked
The Visitation - good. I liked the Pudding Lane reference at the end
Black Orchid - great
Earthshock - great, was a real shock when a companion was actually killed off
Time Flight - as others have noted, good concept, badly executed

Arc Of Infinity - Omega did not need a return.
Snakedance - bad
Mawdryn Undead - fantastic, probably the best Davison story. I really liked Turlough, it made a real change to have a companion who wasn't a good person.
Terminus - bad
Enlightenment - great. I loved Turlough's choice at the end.
The King's Demon - bad. The Master was overused during the Davison era.
The Five Doctor's - not part of the season proper, but a great trip down memory lane.

I find the Davison era the most polarising in terms of fan opinion. For a lot Dr Who, it feels like a hive mind, the same stories are consistently rated by most. Obviously, you get the occasional person who will swear by Nightmare of Eden or Monster of Peledon, but for the most part the same stories are more highly rated by the vast majority.

The Davison era, on the other hand throws up a bunch of anomalies. Kinda and Snakedance seem to be either loved or hated. Same with Terminus and Frontios. Many consider Earthshock and Resurrection to be masterpieces, I am in the not insubstantial camp that think they are an absolute mess.

I feel like the consensus picks in the era are that Caves and Enlightenment are at the top, Timeflight and Warriors of the Deep are at the bottom, and you can find people who love or hate pretty much everything else.

The location work for Black Orchid are its best selling points, especially when beautifully restored for the Blu-ray. But for me, that doesn't outweigh the fact that the story didn't end with Lady Cranleigh being put in the back of a divvy van on the way to the clink on a charge of wrongful imprisonment, but instead getting thanks and a wistful smile from the Doctor. It's a story about the landed gentry and how there are no consequences for them, and this story thinks that's A-OK
