I'm confused at why The Underwater Menace hasn't been released in Aus with the animated eps, it was released almost a year ago in the UK.

Some selfish d/hs on a couple of Facebook Dr Who Groups and pages are posting spoilers from the season 25 Classic Who-Ray Collection.

Makes me so annoyed..not getting my copy until the end of next week FML.

These sets are a bloody treat and the definitive version of all Classic Series stories.

Really hanging out to see The War Games and esp The Seeds of Doom on upscaled/resorted HD.

Unfortunately I think they will leave Season 13 as the last Tom release, a lot of Whispers suggest The Key to Time (season 16) will be the next Tom release.

Watching Carnival of Monsters right now, such a delightful, utterly absurd and hilarious and yet seriously credible sci-fi concept with the Mini-scope.

The political bickering amongst the buercrats of Inter Minor, led by lovable but naive Pletrac is brilliant as is The Doctor and Jo's charming interaction with the Singapore Bound Chickens !

It's such a great pick me up story when feeling down type of classic !

Watching Frontier In Space tonight, an underrated, cracking space oprea that really lifts of once the late and much missed Roger Delgado's Master shows up and unexpectedly saves the Doctor's bacon (in a manor of speaking)

In hindsight it's tragic and very sad that this is Roger Delgado's final story/appearance before his tragic death in Turkey, but from his Master's perspective, satisfying that his Master beat/defeated The Doctor in this story (from a narrative perspective)

Love all of Malcolm Hulke's stories (even the ones he co-wrote)

So sad he died at an early age, he had a promising Fourth Doctor Script brewing before he passed away apparently.

Finished Warriors of the Deep on my Great Journey of Life during the week. Good god, what a bore. It's like Johnny Byrne saw Part 3 of Earthshock and decided to stretch it out over three and a half episodes. Better title would be Attack of the Slow-Moving and Slow-Talking Monsters.

Looking forward to The Awakening though, I haven't seen that one for ages and have a very dim memory of it.

I wonder what the next one after s7 will be?

There will be 5 B&W seasons and 4 colour seasons left. I doubt they'll want to be left with a bunch of B&W seasons to end the run so my bet is it'll be a '60s set. I suspect s13 might be last due to it being generally regarded as peak Who.

Probably not s3 with the upcoming Savages release release and I'm sure they'd want to do Daleks' Master Plan as a standalone release before including it on a Collection set. So not that. War Games has been colourised and will be transmitted on Christmas Eve, no doubt that will also get a standalone release so no s6 for a while.

S4 or 5 are possibilities but my bet would be S1 -- only one missing story not already available as a full animation, and they could include last year's Daleks In Colour. I understand the rights issues with Unearthly Child don't affect physical media releases so that doesn't seem to be an impediment.

Hoping for S21 myself (Davison's best)

I was also informed on Gallifrey Base that there is no problems/issues with An Unearthly Child being released eventually on the Season 1 Collection Who-Ray set, despite Stef 'Aliens live among us' Coburn being a crank, it only relates to streaming.

On physical media? Don't think anything's been announced. Just checked and The Daleks In Colour didn't come out here until early September, not sure if that's necessarily any guide.
Yeah I'm grabbing that for Christmas, curious to see how it is.

I liked it. As an alternative viewing option it's fine. Some of the production choices I wasn't super on board with but that's ok

Seems a bit odd to me how you can condense a ten part story into a 90 minute production (even with lost scenes put in, which I am very keen to see)

Hope it's better The Daleks colourised version, which I wasn't a fan of

Obviously a lot will come out, but if you cut it back to the bare bones of the main plot it should be possible, although I expect it will absolutely rollick along.

What especially took me out of the last one was the inclusion of additional music cues from Murray Gold, which was a stark contrast to Tristram Cary's distinctive electronic musique concrete. I hope this will be less of a clash with Dudley Simpson's work on War Games.

A correction here, it was actually Mark Ayres in the last one and this one. I thought it worked much better this time around, although
some may take exception to the music explicitly quoting the music from Utopia and the Master's theme from season 8 to very heavily imply that the War Chief is the Master. I thought it was a bit unnecessary but it didn't spoil my enjoyment. They took some liberties with the new form selection process at the end too which will be controversial to some, but it's not worth taking these things too seriously IMO.
