Why would you be proud?

We aren't an in form side. Lost to Freo with close calls against winless sides in North and Sydney. We have not belted one team this year.

Pegging us as the 'reigning premiers' to justify a loss is an example of coping mechanism activation at its finest given it completely glosses over our underlying form woes.
Nope. I'm bloody stoked. Dogs won the flag and are still a great side this year. Really pleased with tonight. If you're not pleased with it I can't comment on that because that's for you to think your own thoughts about it.

Richmond should have buried us by 1/2 time. Another second half fade and I'm sure Tigers fans won't be happy about it (neither would I in the circumstances). Our structure, setup, kicking and turnovers were horrible. A 4 quarter game from Richmond would have comprehensively beaten us IMO
Yeah I thought we just ran out of legs with about 5 mins to go in the 3rd quarter, so I'm not overly crushed RE: fadeouts but there's lots to work on for us as well. That's not to take away from the Dogs who are relentless and just keep coming regardless of the situation.

Aside from the slow starts, I'd like to see the Dogs be a little more efficient with their F50 entries. The pressure is great but the scoreboard often doesn't reflect all the hard work you've done. It's a dangerous team who can overcome a headstart and ineffective footy yet still win though, so onwards and upwards this season IMO.

I know. We are jealous. But the premiers of old (like you guys) in the primary school yard etc etc. Taught us that when you win a premiership you get to be an obnoxious repetative twit, so it's the first time i can be that in my life! Don't even know where I'm going here except that i feel sorry for young tiges supporters who will think "here we go again". I'm old - so give me a bit of slack please! Let me be obnoxious.

Are you Gen X or older? I was onboard the Footscray train in the finals last year and glad they won it.

Good luck for the rest of the year regardless, still a long way to go.

Hopefully, we can start playing better, cleaner football soon, my nerves are shot to bits. Oh, for a win where we can ease to the line. A decent start would help. Not sure if there's such a person as a kicking coach but we should at least put out a feeler on seek.com.au
No fee has been received by myself for this reference.

Thanks. I always watch on the foxtel channel and didn't realise they went that far on 7. Will switch post game now. Takes forever for them to put it up on the AFL site.
I do the same. This week is the first time I thought to switch over because I didn't want to watch the crappy Foxtel post game show :p

Our setup tonight, was utterly shit and we got away with that. I can't put up with too much more though, we were lucky to get away with it tonight

What I can't understand, although there are fewer tonight, are the apologists for the poor play. We're premiers, chill out, winning without playing well is good, we'll click into gear soon etc.

I know you can't win a flag in April or May but you can sure as hell set one up. We could easily be 7-0, but just as easily be 2-5. And percentage is already gone, so we need to win one more game then Adelaide, GWS or whoever else we want to finish above.

If Bevo wants to play funny buggers with selection or setup that's his prerogative. But I would hope that goal kicking, inside 50 entries and general effort from the first minute are priorities this week.

I don't enjoy it.. Adams and Fletch playing forward at times, especially when we need composure and a tall on the backline

Dogs played poorly. Everyone here is just happy they got over the line, or frustrated that the premiers are playing like a mid table team again after the bright shoots of last Friday.

Rucking Jong and Dunkley for the entire first quarter would have to go down as one of the greatest coaching disasters of the year. We could have been 10 goals done at 1/4 time if not for so good work of our defenders.

Playing short may work on a 3 c night in Canberra but not in an indoor stadium.

Glad to get away with that one. Tigers aren't a bad side they played well. We need to start better or this is going to hurt us at the pointy end of the season. Not sure why we are slow starters.

Actually , I thought we played pretty well in the second and third quarters. We had heaps of chances but we just need to finish the plays better. Didn't help we had nobody over 190 cms up there either.

On the flip side, if Toyd was spent at 3/4 time by rucking most of first q, Dunkley and Jong would have had to ruck the last q. Wonder if that was the thinking.

Thought the game was a cracker.

Second best performance of the season after last week.

Only because we can't kick. We won the centre clearances.

The team we beat was 5 and 1 and applied a lot of pressure on our handball game. Some of our lesser lights stood up as well- Williams, Adams, Smith, T.Boyd. They also kicked some pretty impressive goals- they could a top 8 team.
