Re: Don't let the Collingwood pretenders fool you, lets take a look at the stats.

ifs buts and maybes please, it is what it is we won and the bounce was nowhere near him, you should be focused on rebuilding, not hating.

6 strong quarters out of 8 is not bad.

Not hating, actually enjoying this years premiership, but if the ball had of bounced favourably, it was a Colliwobble year.

I'm sure Collingwood players, at least the coaching staff, have a greater appreciation of this than the average Collingwood supporter.

Unless they do, you want go back to back. You'll go 1991.

Re: Don't let the Collingwood pretenders fool you, lets take a look at the stats.

Collingwood supporters are in danger of forgetting that they are only a favourable bounce to Milne away from not trawling for egg on face threads.

Sadly for Essendon fans, they aren't in any danger of forgetting that they have the worst list in the AFL.:thumbsu:

I wonder what the history books will record?

St Kilda were almost winners, but the ball bounced unfavourably for Milne? Perhaps not.

Collingwood were the 2010 Premiers? Sounds more likely.

Ifs, buts & maybes, I've heard enough of them in my lifetime. I'll take the emphatic 56 point GF win any day.

Its a completely different list in every way.

Wobbles shmobbles we'll be right in the mix for a while.

Blanche: You wouldn't be able to do these awful things to me if I weren't still in this chair.

Jane: But you *are*, Blanche! You *are* in that chair!

Of course we are, because it doesn't mean sweet f*** all except to those who are desperate but inevitably fail, all that matters is this:

I know if it was Essendon I would tempering my thoughts and words with how we were lucky to get the draw in the first week.

But great win in the second week and a very fitting premier team of 2010.

I guess it's just to do with Collingwood supporters not knowing how to behave. Being scum, etc.

Don't worry about your inferiority complex, it's completely justified.

We've lost so many GF's by less than a goal it was only a matter of time before the bounce went our way. Would have been an injustice if Milne had kicked the winning goal as you saw in the replay the most dominant team of the year shone through.

An injustice to the year overall. But not to the day its self. Goddard and Hayes almost lifted StKilda to victory that day. A better bounce would just have been part of the folklore of the games they played.

There are a lot of what-ifs in games.

What if Cloke had kicked those two goals at the end of the 2nd quarter? What if Thomas had kicked truly running into an open goal in the 3rd quarter? What if Blair hadn't hit the post from 25m out, directly in front, in the 3rd quarter? What if Dawes had nailed just 1 of his 4-5 shots on goal throughout the game?

Put it into that context & St Kilda should be saying how lucky they were to get a draw in the first GF.

What if Milne had kicked the goal, but Collingwood got a goal straight away from the re-start?

Pure hypothetical specluation.

When you get down to the events of the last seconds of a game, nothing is hypothetical. May have had time for another goal. Would have been long odds, though.

That's funny, when the pies played you this year, it was they that did all the wiping. Of the floor that is.

The wiping referred to (or lack of) was to do with the sanitary habits of Collingwood supporters when they get off the John.

Re: Don't let the Collingwood pretenders fool you, lets take a look at the stats.

Oh we know it stinks. In contrast to Collingwood supporters, though, we wipe.

Using hands doesn't count.

Personally I use a bidet/ water gun, Thai style. Why would anyone wipe their arse with paper? If you had mud on your arm would you wipe it off with paper? Do you shower by dabbing your body with paper? Some norms of western culture are quite pathetic.

But I digress.

For me, the most cringe-worthy thing about this thread is that the OP garnered his user name from mine. Ah well at least my name will stand the test of time. His has about 2 years of relevance left.

....and to all of those haters out there, suck up.

Second toughest draw of the season, only Essendon's was tougher (we played 4 interstate to their 3 though).

Introduction of young blood gave us the zip needed to outrun and out-tackle the opposition. Every member of Collingwood's Premiership 22 improved their output from the previous year. Every member!

Minor premiership converted into a 15th flag.

Reamed our hated rivals Essendon and Carlton 4 times.

Belted last years Grand Finalists 4 times.

Removed the "haven't beaten a Vic team in a finals series since 1990" tag.
Removed the "haven't beaten St.Kilda in a final since 1966" tag.
Removed the "can't win when it matters" tag.
Removed the "one flag in 52" tag.

...and the one we love the most. Retained the status as the most hated, most vilified and most supported club in the land.

Thank you Collingwood Football Club.

Suck it BF nuff nuffs.
