I wouldn't mind Stack and Addison staying, i think Coach can really change them around, give them a good solid pre-season and get their skills up a bit and they could be pretty good

I think we should go after Seaby, pick 37 is a much better investment on Seaby than Bate. I think he can put it together, has put on some monster performances for Sydney before getting injured and a person called Mumford burst on to the scene.

A nice big body as a stop gap to get roughead and cordy ready.

No reason why Minson can't be that stop gap. Probably got more runs on the board being the best ruckman in the VFL and doesn't cost us a draft pick. No need for 4 or 5 ruck man on a list either.

You guys seem to be on the edge of a lot of trade or players but not getting the feet wet....wonder what the go is at the kennel. Whether it's just a lack of interest, or you may be tenative on trading a bit.

I reckon its a case of knowing what we want but not having the leverage to make it happen. I wouldn't be surprised if we came away from trade week with no new players at the club and instead focus on the draft.

Which i'd be happy with personally.

Not really. We said beforehand we would be fairly quiet and that's how it has panned out (especially after you guys grabbed Crouch).

Common sense says we should investigate any serious offers and it's no secret we have a few players who are not getting anywhere by being on our list so it would make sense to offload them for the right offer (eg Reid).

I don't think we had serious aspirations to get Bate but if we can pick him up at a fair price (or unders) and he won't cost too much in the salary cap then it probably is a reasonable thing to do. I won't mind if it falls through though.

Clubs (and especially the fans) get a bit silly in trade week and contemplate some ridiculous trades. Nine times out of ten I'd prefer to invest in the draft.

This new coach must be a ****ing miracle worker.
Who knows, how he talked to the group at the awards night, he could possibly do it.
Get them in the gym, get them stronger and less worried about being whacked by other players and give them cool hands under pressure
You never know.

Saints downgraded 20 to 25 to pick up two pre-listed players.

Id say a downgrade from 17 to 20 would represent equivilant value (less spots, but they get more valuable the lower they go)

Which 2 pre-listed players might we go for, and would it be worth it?

What pre-listed players are available if anyone knows?

for discussion. The type of deal we might have done...

GWS wanted Wood.

We agree to trade Wood + compo pick for mini-draft #2
AFL gives us band 3 compo pick (end of 1st round)

We give up floating 1st round compo pick and Wood
Receive end of 1st round compo pick and Crouch

Apparently GWS are allowed to do this with 10 players over two years and they have used 8 so far. I think they'll probably hold on to the rest in case a standout emerges next year.

I reckon its just the media displaying their usual lousy mathematical skills by putting 2 + 2 and coming up with The Western Bulldogs.

GWS have already traded pick #20 to Fremantle for Rhys Palmer's compensation pick. Given that they're traded this and their #31 pick, I think the next pick after #14 that they have available currently is #49.

Nothing official, but I've heard you guys shut us down in the week earlier.

Still think we should be in his ear about home cooked means and the like. But I've not heard anything for a while.

You don't know when to quit, do you WALL-e :p

Dry Rot, according to someone that spoke to him at the B&F, he has signed for 2 years. Nothing official though, and nothing said about him during trade week. Seems to have been completely forgotten about.

Great, now go back in time and take it to the bulldogs a bit earlier :p

It's possible with Howard we were waiting for the 2012 salary cap figures to be released and perhaps he's agreed in principle to a new deal but might not be around the club at the moment so can't sign it.

I'll never stop mate.

I'd be reminding him of all sorts of things at the moment.
