Freo needs to have the same courage that Sydney has. Luke Parker cant get a gig and is playing in the 2s.

Sonny and Fyfe need to go play some WAFL.

Fyfe cant kick, if hes not getting the ball at clearance hes a liability both defensively and ball in hand. The game has moved on from his style of play.
Pretty common sentiment around here
Cast your mind back a month & Fyfes in vintage form, I'm backing in the champ*

The interesting thing about the Darcy free kick is about 5 minutes earlier Sidebottom & Serong were competing in a stoppage & the ump called a ball up. The ball was under Sidebottom & the ump said twice “Steele can you pass me the ball!” Sidebottom ignored his request, stepped over it & ran off. So did Caleb, but he didn’t ask him.

The ump Nicholls, who paid the kick against Daicos for Darcy’s goal was not happy & visibly shook his head. Paybacks a bitch.
They are banging on about never seeing that free paid before.
Not a free kick, but there was the 50 against Logue when that flog Riewoldt called for the ball, but it was his team mate's kick & Riewoldt squealed to the umps, who of course paid the 50

Darcy is underdone. Needs 2/3 weeks and will be back to normal.
Jackson was really poor.
Ryan was a little off with disposal. Missed a few easy kicks & a few dumb moments. Blondes..

Johnson frustrates the hell out of me. Missed so many easy handball targets and never gives first option. Could be anything I reckon, just has some big work ons.

Walters needs JLo to drop him. It’s sad now. Let him work back in.

Emmett isn’t good enough atm either. Had some really poor decision making moments. Can’t tell me Sturt or Simpson can’t offer more.

Amiss needs to reset the routine a bit. He will be fine. His 2 shots were difficult.

I think there was one paid just last week, not in our game though.

We were lucky to get any points out of that game.

I'd like to say the side will take a lot of belief out of that finish but it really seemed like we showed up right at the start and end of that game - as Collingwood's mistakes were punished with quick ball movement to score.

There will be a lot of "if onlys" after a game like that.

There were times Serong looked exhausted, Amiss couldn't get into the game. Some really painful handballs.

I really don’t understand the posters making negative comments about JL.
He’s got us playing in a way that is consistent & competitive every week barring one anomaly against the Eagles.

If we were able to replace the poorly skilled players like Emmett & cooked Walters with decent players plus have the confident, accurate Amiss back & Jackson could actually start taking some contested marks up front so we’re getting fair value for our forward entry we’d take it up to anyone.

It’s not far off. It’s skill & forward connection we lack. The game plan & connection/effort of the players is fine.

Collingwood did their work on Hayden Young too, constantly blocking his run out of everything, denying him that corridor space to swing onto the left.

Trampled his influence.

Our stoppage work in the third & start of the fourth was as bad as we’ve been all year. Poor positioning & communication along with being flat footed was the main reason we looked like shit.
Full credit to the players for turning that around & getting the drive from somewhere to turn it around against the best closing team in the competition.

That was gutsy.

Moose did well.

'I just thought, 'Cam would kick this.''

Real spirit of the club that.

I think we can all acknowledge young Cam was a flawed character, and in my experience wasn't a very nice guy once he had a drink, but that hit me.

Happy to walk away with the 2 points, looked like a completely different team in that last 5 minutes when they embraced the chaos and got rid of that turgid gameplan.
It reminds me about the crows vs Brisbane draw a week or 2 ago.

I watched some of the game...

11.9.75 to 10.15.75 for a draw.

Some one said if our goal kicking percentage is 60 percent or more, we are likley to win.

I posted this on the Justin Longmuir thread.

Again, if we average 60 percent of our set shots on goal, we are likely to win.

I replied on there if Freo Had 20 scoring shots and Kick 12.8.80 on average, we are likely to win most games.

Had freo kicked 12.8.80 tonight, we would of won.

Had we kicked 12.8.80 vs Carlton in round 4 and Port in Round 5, we would of won both of those games easily.

Never understood why this board cares so much about how he speaks in front of a camera

They cut-off his Press conference? Disrespectful af
He's the coach of a professional entity, he's always been a shy guy too.

He's not really a senior coach. he's just too timid.

Didn't realise Ben Allan's son made his debut for Collingwood tonight.

WTH?!
Herein lies the inequity of then AFL and the reason I'm no longer a member.
Our first marquee signing, club captain, former coach and board member, bleeds purple was Ben Allen, He didn't play the nominated amount of games we don't get any F/S privileges on his son , who by the way is a first round pick.
Meanwhile the backbone of the Pies are F/S picks
As much as I love the game , the AFL is so lopsided and rigged its a farce,

I don’t want to start anything but I was wearing the retro jacket on the purple side for the first half, switched it to the green side for the second half and took it off halfway through the 4th…
I started leaving once Bobby Hill kicked the goal...

I'm well out the stadium and some fan goes up to me and says Freo are one point behind and we have to go back. Said we couldn't because it's bad juju.

Couldn't believe we came back from 25 points. We looked horrible.

Wtf is everyone banging on about that Darcy free kick for? It didn’t decide the ****ing game - the Pies were still up by 13 points after he kicked it. Not our fault they then shat themselves and couldn’t hang on to the lead with 3 minutes to go.

It’s not even in the same postcode as the crappy umpiring we’ve received in those Carltank games.

We've been talking about ingredients, about building towards being a top side (dare I say decade of dominance) on here a bit the last 2 or 3 weeks. Today I think we saw one of them: staying in the game when your midfield is not just breaking even rather than on top, but actively losing. Clearances 35-47 overall (despite presumably winning most of the last 6-8 or so, last period of the match scoring was 25 - 0 to Freo). Outside of a couple of phases of the match Collingwood were well on top but couldn't break us down enough to kill the game.
