Backs- C.Cornes, Hodge, Adcock, Malceski, Ellis, Nicoski, Hill (Suban, Petrenko)
Mids- Gablett, Kerr, Judd, Masten, Hasleby, Butler (Robinson, Rich)
Rucks- Cox, Leuenberger (Currie, Vickery)
Forwards- Pavlich, Deledio, Giansiracusa, Staker, Higgins, Lucas, Ziebell (Walker, Ballantyne)

Your thoughts?
Expecting big years from ellis, masten and leuenberger. Must keep an eye on the fitness of Hodge and Ellis and make sure they are 100% come round 1.

My 'have to have him' tip is nicoski. Racks up the points, got in to great form at the end of last season and has already starred vs collingwood (DT wise). At only 263k, he will pay handsomely.

I don't usually give team advice but I love your training reports so I'll make an exception. Even though I don't have any of them, I won't advise against your eagles players in Nicoski, Kerr, Masten, Butler and Staker because you would know more about them than me. A couple of things that stand out to me about your team are:

1) You seem to be giving preference to great footballers rather than great DT'ers. Players like Kerr and Judd are unlikely to ever be outstanding DT'ers.

2) I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not but both Hodge and Ellis have had surgery during the off-season and will miss the NAB Cup. Ellis is even in a fair bit of doubt for RD 1.

TBH it's hard to find much wrong with your team but like I said, I felt obliged to offer something in return for those training reports of yours:thumbsu:

Just one question for you Beatle, how is Mitch Brown travelling? By the sounds of your reports he has been ripping up the pre-season but he was then left out of the NAB Cup. Is he a likely starter for RD 1? My other worry with him is that Lynch has said he will play as a permanent forward which means a forward line of Hansen, Lynch and Kennedy. Could it be a struggle for him to get a game? Cheers.

My dreamteam squad at the moment

Backs: Mackie, Goddard, Chad Cornes, Mattner, Myers, Raines, Schoenmakers, (Kite,Suban)

Mids: Gibbs, Boak, Knights, Swallow, Hill, Rich, (Robinson, Beams)

Rucks: Cox, Skipper (Currie, Graham)

Forwards: Pavlich, Richardson, Deledio, Didak, Chapman, Lucas, Higgins (Ziebell, Gumbleton)

Any thoughts please i tend to cut my loses in the midfield early in the year then tend to upgrade after about round 8 and im a bit worried about my second ruck in Skipper but heard hes havn his best pre season to date.
Also want a rookie as my seventh backman and could really only find schoenmakers so if u have any other suggestions there that would be great.

(not owning) Nick Stevens hurt me more than any other player ilast year.

you've been warned.

There's a bit of a difference though. Stevens was into a team where he wasn't going to be tagged much and had Judd and Murphy as support. Haselby is coming into a midfield where he is the number 1 and will always have a player marking him.

Start again and dont use so much money in the midfield.

Tuck IMO will score around the 75-80 mark this year, he will replace Crawf. Another option is Mackay who is 50k less and looks the goods.

well i reckon he's a gun, and at that price i'll take him even if he's injury-prone.

what is your assessment of The Porpoise this year? you buying?
Thats what alot of people are saying mate, but really I am not going near him.
Porps isnt in my team currently, but im sorta tossing him up with Brennan. Porpa should be fine for round 1, but he might not be available, so I would wait for further reports.
IMO, if his shoulder stays fine, he could average 90.

Uh, why do I see people putting Ryan Houlihan in their team?

I can guarantee a couple of things if you have that man in your team:

A). You are stupid.
B). The chances of you finishing top 1000 are equal with the chances of the sun imploding in the next 10 minutes.

Actually, no. Disregard this post. The man is a superstar that will tear it up in '09 :thumbsu:

1. Houlihan is in Carlton's best 22
2. Before last season he only missed 1 game in the previous two years.
3. Priced at an average of 55 with the two previous years before last having averages of 75 and 82.
4. Carlton should be an improving side, hence should be a higher scoring team.

If you can come up with some reasons why, someone is stupid for selecting Houlihan, I would love to hear them.
