Just wondering how
A. Josh Kennedy
B. Benny McGlynn are going.

Thanks in advance. :thumbsu:

A. Bulked up to 96 kgs this off season and recently ran a PB in the 3km time trial the Swans use. Can't remember how much he is in these leagues but if he's less than 400k could be a good value pick. Looking very good after a great debut year for us. Could become one of the best inside midfielders in the comp some time over the next 2 years.

B. Constantly up the front in the 3km time trials and if he plays anything like last year (given he doesn't get hurt too often) could be a good pick. Depends how expensive he is of course. Might see more midfield time this year having played mostly up forwad last year.

Every time one of you even MENTIONS a player's time trial performance, your post should automatically include a picture of Ed Barlow and suitable disclaimer

While that's true, I think we can all agree guys like JPK, McGlynn, ROK have more runs on the board than Ed did, making it somewhat more suitable to use the time trials as a gauge on how they're going at this time of the year (in general, those players getting fitter --> better performance)

Hows Luke Parker travelling?
Will he debut round 1?
Will he make an immediate impact?

Dylan McNeil?

Still on the rookie list, unlikely to get much seniors time. Will be hoping to be upgraded at year's end I imagine.

Coaches have had many good things to say about him and he looks physically ready for seniors but he has many other midfielders to compete with so I'd say it was quite unlikely he will see any time early in the year. Perhaps, should he dominate the 2's level and if enough injuries come up, he will get a call up later on in the year.

Cannot see him debuting in RD 1 unless we have a horrific run with injuries in the position he plays, but who knows about longmire's policy... however
I'm 95% certain he won't start RD 1, but when he does debut I do expect him to have a solid/good game. (hard to say, could have nerves.)

Malceski & Hannebury (Someone asked earlier about Hannebury, but I didnt see a specific response)

How are they going in pre-seaon training?

Mal and Hanners are putting up PB's in time trials so at the least they're both fit. Hanners could get the 2nd/3rd year blues but both are solid selections to play week in week out.

On an earlier post about JPK he should step up and assume more of Kirk's hard ball gets. As an inside midfielder who put on 4kg and then posted a pb in time trial it's a tantalising prospect watching him tear up other midfields.

Do you guys think grundy can improve on last year? Is he prime for a big year?

Haven't heard much about Reg this off season which I've been interpreting as
he's going along fine without setting the world on fire. No injuries but nothing to get a whole article devoted to him.

He had a really good year last year and with LRT and Craig Bolton under injury clouds again going into season 2011 he will be taking the best forwards every week again. He is well and truly up to it as he showed last year (up until his encounter with Hall in the EF).

Given the new substitute rule, I don't think it'd be suprising to see him rested up forward but I suspect he will definently have at least a quarter in the midfield per game, mostly because we're really missing the leadership of Kirk and it gets his confidence up.
Also, his position, will depend on the opposition's structure (e.g. more short defenders = using him there to expose height) but me personally I think he'll be spending 70% of the time in midfield.

Benson Mglynn?
Hows he going injury wise, last i saw him he had his head caved in against our boys, will he be playing predominantly midfield or forward?
