Drew gave Rocca a bath, i thought Drew was one of our better players all day, never gets credit for playing a good game and will have some big tasks all year.

Bath??? haha rocca didnt kick a goal but did so many good thigs all day alot of good marks. you guys are dreaming next you'll say Wells played well.

Um, Rocca played FF and was kept goalless. I think that might mean Petrie had a reasonable game.

Drew was fantastic today.His 1 on 1 on Rocca was fantastic.
If he keeps this form throughout the season he is a chance at AA.

You are forgetting that they used to have Tarrant as their FF so are used the having a FF that doesn't kick goals.

Petrie was terrific today and with the way the ball was coming into their forward line during the last quarter he stood tall and spoiled time and time again. It's just a shame our smaller defenders couldn't cover them men at the drop of the ball.

The really great thing is that it seems that Drew is going to carry on from his good form in the second half of last year. That was my main concern with him - so a big positive for us out of this game.

Had've North kicked straight you'd be hiding on your own board. Realistically the game should have been all over at three quarter time. We lost it, Collingwood didn't win it. And given we had 4 debutants and 8 players with less than 14 games experience I'd say based on today that our future looks good. Can't say the same for the ageing Collingwood.

Wells had a shocker - no doubt about it. I do have two eyes unlike some.

Despite Uncle Dom's attempts to drag this into a "We won, you lost, ner ner nee ner ner" puerile discussion, we can bring this back to the original point of the post: Drew Petrie's form.

Happy with it. He not only keeps his opponent to having a minimum impact on the scoreboard (the number one obective of any defender), but also shows the confidence to occasionally leave his man and cut off the ball going to others. Plays tough in defence and at the moment is the strongest piece of vertebrae in our spine.
