I know yuppie married couples in their mid thirties that get on it every weekend!! Doesnt make them any less of a person!! They still have great lives, money, familiy, jobs, etc!!

anyway, i havent given my opinion on this topic yet so i might just do it now.
I dont look down upon anyone who is/has been addicted to any type of drug, i just think its stupid how i hear people continuously say 'its not their fault'.
The majority of drug addicts would have made the choice to take it for the first, second, third and fourth times. No-one else to blame but themselves.

Well if we go along with what you say (its what youve done/been through in your life that determines how mature you are), then isn't there a pretty big chance that most 19yo's haven't had enough time do go through life, and therefore would be less inclined to be more mature than an older person - say someone of 30-50?

I most certainly agree with your opinion, but this isn't what the thread is about. It's more about some people think that drugs isn't all bad (i.e. There isn't anything too bad about a person who takes drugs in moderation), and some people think that no matter if a person is an occasional user or an addict, they are all in the same boat, are all stupid, and should be looked down upon.
Another issue that has risen is that PoSA thinks that he is more mature than 30 year olds who get ****ed every weekend. Go figure.
You obviously don't have children, if you were in a relationship with children then you wouldnt be going out getting drunk every weekend, well unless you were an irresponisble adult. Once you enter a relationship where children are involved you cant go out getting drunk every weekend, or taking drugs.

Cocaine was freely available at Harrods in London until the 1930's when it was made illegal because of the public perception of it as an 'evil' Chinese drug.
There is a lot of history involved in this. I won't even start to go into the USA vs. Colombian stories involving the fight against Communism.
Not black and white by ANY stretch of the imagination.

as a person approaching 30, I would concur with this sentiment
seriously, I know that some young people can be very mature for their age, but there are some things that you just can't experience until you've had the time to do so.
I used to think that all drug users were bad evil people, but given time, as well as my experiences with working in drug treatment services, I have really changed my views and learnt to be less judgemental.

I'm not saying that they are bad ppl, some are, but i know druggies that are really nice ppl, and genuine too! But I just don't support their view on taking drugs or getting smashed everyweek end!

You are so fcuking stupid (and naive). That's a pretty big stereotype - throwing occasion drug users and addicts into the same group with nothing to distinguish them. You have a bit of growing up to do. The fact that you think like this as well as thinking you are mature for you age, suggests that maybe you are very immature.
I occasionally go to the movies, does that mean I'm a movie buff?
I occasionally got to the gym, does that mean I'm a gym junkie?
I drink a cup of coffee on rare occasions (maybe once a year), does that mean I'm classified as a coffee drinker?
A druggie is someone who is an addict (or there abouts).
