If m0nty's magic number is higher as i would expect, that doesnt nessesarilty mean that you will have cash. If m0nty has given larger discounts to some players in your team than VS did, then that 'extra cash' is spent.

Am I the only one who think m0nty's prediction was pretty good.
For god sake he was not that far off and it is a guestimate. Happy bout the news on Krak, but I really hope they give him some dp?

Just thought i'd post this
Warnie-Not sure on the MN (it’s a myth anyway…), but the is a HUGE chance he will be FWD/MID – hint hint!
Think its fair to say he's DP

Just did a quick MN calculation an assumed the $139,500 price tag for Krak is discounted at a number of intervals from 40% to 5% based on his 2007 average 48. These are the results:

40% discount - ~4,844
35% discount - ~4,471
30% discount - ~4,152
25% discount - ~3,875
20% discount - ~3,633
15% discount - ~3,419
10% discount - ~3,229
5% discount - ~3,059

m0nty's MN is ~4,273 so I am guessing that VS applied a 30% discount to Krak and the MN will be around 4,152.

Love the thought and initiative of this Narkee

Really becoming a good DT discussion poster

Will be a very popular player, expect to see him get dp as a mid/fwd.

Re: 2011 Mids Thread

Krakouer is only value if he is in the pies best 22 (well, 20 with the sub rule) and he plays enough games. far too early to call him the most popular player.

Spot on. Lot of hype but gotta remember he's playing for the reigning premier. Obviously all sides evolve from season to season including the reigning premier but, hypothetically, whose spot in the starting 22 (or 20) from the GF side is he going to take? NAB Cup form will be crucial.

Agree with this Wheedus. ^^^

The Pies side will be very hard to get into and i honestly cant see Krak getting more than 12 games unless the Pies have injury woes. He is cheap yes and maybe worth it considering he is priced at a rookie but he is far from a lock in your team and i would not to be relying on him playing a heap of games this year and i think he will average around the 50-60pt mark this year in the games he does play.

Pies just have to many quality point scorers in front of him IMO. Only DP may see him get a spot on my bench.

Malthouse showed last year that he isn't afraid to change his side from week to week. Krakour might not get a game every week, but his DP status will probably get him into most sides.

All i know is you dont pay a first round draft pick for a 28 year old player and dont give them a game or have them strongly in your thinking for your best side in help to win another flag.

Sure he will have to earn it and sure he may get dropped, but i think he would be picked ahead of both Dick and Davis right now. If he has a good pre season he will be picked ahead of them.

I think people that dont rate him, didnt see him play WAFL last year and only make judgment upon his richmond days. He is a much better footballer now. The best WAFL player last year by some stretch.

But the reality is he isn't a walk up starter in their side.
Will get games you'd think, but will need to impress to be a regular.

I think hes there best small forward or second if Didak is considered a small forward. So therefore i think hes a walk up start with a solid pre season.

I see Krakouer as the perfect substitute player. I reckon we could see him coming on the ground alot half way through the third quarter to make an impact on the match, especially in big games such as when Collingwood play St. Kilda, Geelong etc....

At only 176cm he maybe a bit short to fill the substitute role.

I suspect clubs will be inclined to go with slightly taller utility types so team balance can be maintained when a foot soldier goes down.

By no means is he a walk up start until he proves himself in the pre-season, wouldn't be a walk up start in a premiership side. They have plenty of midfield/smaller forward types.

Well see

It goes without saying that anyone has to prove them self for a game in AFL. But i think alot of people just think about his richmond days and not how good he is now. Hell fit in perfectly at collingwood and by giving up a first round pick for him, he would be in MM and collingwoods premiership side.
