Would be surprised (and disappointed) if we didn't sound him out about a move west.

Not convinced we'd be prepared to pay the money he is chasing and then it would be what else Richmond want along with our pick 6 for a trade

Dam right we should be, Just what we are looking for. A gun midfielder.
I wonder if we will make the call?
The call will be made, it just depends on how much we are willing to spend. In my opinion throw just about everything at him! He is exactly what we need! I think who we chose as coach will influence it a little as well. Williams and Martin package deal? Btw anyone know if we still have to trade for him?

From an earlier Facebook quote (if it is to be believed)
Some Random Facebook Quote said:
"Multiple sources have provided mail that want-away Tiger Dustin Martin has been seen having dinner with Darren Glass, Trevor Nisbett and Scott Burns at an up market Subiaco restaurant. Speculation is rife regarding the young star's playing future and this only adds fuel to the fire that Martin wants out of Richmond as well as Victoria. Perhaps the infamous jailhouse gesture displayed by Dustin during their loss to Carlton was also symbolic of his decision to refuse a new contract at Tigerland?"

Barra in his chat on the West is saying WCE have met with Martins management...would only like him here if it does not cost us our first round pick. I think he a high risk high reward sort of player..i mean he would the player that could be elite at WCE but being if Perth i have feeling he could much a lot more.

This suggests to me there is some truth to the rumours that were going around in the preseason. Clearly clubs view him as a risk and fair enough.

He would definetly cost our first plus more.

If he quit, how would it cost us?

I get confused at all this drafting stuff...

He isn't a free agent so we would need to trade for him. If he nominated us perhaps a deal could be worked out and we can keep pick 6. Otherwise the teams below us are in a better position.

Definitely makes things interesting.

Just the type of player we need strong and attacking. Not sure of the off field stuff. Would back the club culture at the moment to get him on the straight and narrow.

I was hoping all last week, even posted trade scenarios on the tigers board.

Too scared to go over there now but there were some interesting rumors last week that made it seem possible even though more likely not probable.

Crappy facebook rumors
6PR sightings
Burns shortening on Coach
Ralph Clark stating we were not after Conca
Dusty not signing

Now that we know he won't be returning to tigerland, i truly hope we had something to do with it. Not because i wish misery upon the tigers but because it would show we have been aggressive going after what we need and want regardless of where they grew up.

Get it done West Coast.

Massive upside and that upside would be worth pick 6 IMO.
BUT........ has also proved in the past that he has the ability to be a liability with his off-field antics (something we really don't need)

Therefore his risk added to the upside means pick 6 would be overs. Our 2nd rounder plus a player richmond would be interested in, a Rosa, Shepard, Smith or another 25-75 gamer.

Personally I think if he keeps his sh#$ together he could be the player we are looking for.
