He was pretty enjoyable. The interesting bit for me was when he basically said my brief at Fox is to be as annoying a campaigner as possible.

Yep. When he said that his role to be positive abd hype up the game 100% of the time it helped explain why he seemed a better commentator on Ch 9 in the mid-00s.

It's not that that he gets excited during calls that's the problem, it's that its fake and manufactured to provide hype that the viewing audience didn't ask for.
