they removed the autopick and my pick , so as to give Jem more time to make his own decision (if he ever comes back on) , but as i said above , i was happy to take Maclin , just that Robiskie was my first option but the Maclin pick had grown on me.

Rhyno, as of right now, who is your preference, because that is who you're going to get.

Jem's pick will be moved down 5 spots. I think that's the fairest way, cos it gives him time to come on and make a pick, but also penalises him at the same time.

i'll take Maclin , i've looked over the 2 players and have come to the conclusion , that Robiskie is a player who will get time in a weaker team but is not exactly the better player , whereas Maclin is a good player but in a better team with limited chances but should push for time this season.

1- Round one has been concluded, as 24 hours has passed since the last pick was made official (longer if you count the BS). Shifty has no-showed, so his pick is forfeited until later in the draft. As with other drafts, if Shifty logs on and makes pick before the next one is made, then I'll allow it. If both Jem and Shifty still don't turn up, then their picks will be autopicked.

2- FYI to anyone wondering why Sleepy got the boot and these two aren't (yet), is that Jem and Shifty both replied to my PM saying they were still interested. Hence why that little bit more leeway has applied to them (though my patience is wearing thin, to be honest).

3- Official ruling for missed pick: moved down 5 spots in the draft, and autopicked if missed again. I am thinking about making it 6 spots for Rd3, 7 for Rd4 etc. as if it happens that Jem and Shifty don't turn up at all, it's the same people getting advanatged and disadvantaged with this move. Still time to discuss that though.

4- From Round 2 onwards, ALL PICKS HAVE A TIME LIMIT OF 12 HOURS. This will be relaxed in the event the 12 hour deadline falls in the early hours of the morning, the time limit will be extended to 9am. Missed pick, point 3 still applies.

5- I'm thinking a mass get-together on here Sunday July 26, 8pm, if we need to get it finished. I'm not going to chop and change the day/time of this (though I guess I could be a little flexible if it happens by chance that we could all be online at an exact time and date), so if you can't make it, PM me a list of players. If noone but me can make it, everyone send me a bloody list, and I'll pick it for everyone.

6- If you aren't going to be around for a particular pick or whatever, please send me a list of players. IF you think I'll use it to my advantage, I will let you all know this:

I am an egotist, and as such, I have my own list, and believe it to be better than anyone elses, therefore will view any list sent to me as inferior. If I happen to take your player, it will be because I rate him my best choice at that pick

So please, do trust me, it's ****in Fantasy Football and not worth my time to screw people over.

OK, I think that's it. Let's get this shit finished and get to the fun stuff.

thats bs, i said i wouldn't be here, and i asked that the alpha draft be used as my list.
i get back and i lose 5 places instead of getting Robiskie.
that is really really really gay.
only one pick has been made, and the player i would rather have (Robiskie) is still there...

Well, the other options are:

a) auto pick at their actual draft position, but that doesn't really penalise a missed pick enough, or

b) move their pick to the end of the draft, which I think is too harsh, and in the event that the team is needed to be taken over, disadvantages the new owner too much.

I think it's a good middle-ground, but there's going to be issues with whatever way we go, so I think we just have to get on with it.

You could just do highest projected player in ESPN as an autopick? As an alternative to the Alpha autopick of course

Problem that does it that it ignores defensive players
Frankly there are enough poor drafters in Alpha that after the first two rounds, the autopick will be picking up duds.

Had to change to the homer pick. Not too bad as I think he will be good, but Robiskie seems much more likely to be better THIS season.

Ummmm, that was the plan... the autopick from Alpha draft was a specific request from shifty (albeit one I completely missed).

Looking through the picks there have been few surprises other than a few people not picking to their 'needs'. But they do say sometimes it's best just to take the best player available. As you would predict my Mock draft was completely wrong except my own pick, which as I planned I was able to trade down 5 spots and still get him.
