Re: Alpha Dynasty - Discussion

Glad i didn't deal him or Slaton in BFFFL to you.
My lax attitude re: the BFFFL from the preseason is dragging into the actual season unfortunately.

Just don't find it interesting in comparison to Dynasty/CT...

Re: Alpha Dynasty - Discussion

Well at least I got smashed this week, rather that than losing by <10 points.

Nice job Woodson.

Thanx CC, I do all I can do from scrubbing the players cleats and picking up the uniforms from the laundry each week... it's the Mustangs team manager, LD, who is the real strategic mastermind behind the team selections and pre-game motivational speech.

As LD says, before and after every SINGLE game...one step at a time.

Re: Alpha Dynasty - Discussion

Left to many fricken point on the bench with Hixon, Maroney and Thomas.

Calvin Johnson is killing me this year.
Well he was clearly injured going into the game. Hopefully thats the end of it though.

Which of Maroney/Hixon/Thomas were 'realistic starts' though? You can easily say 'If only I started player xyz' but in the end if there was no chance of playing them, its a pretty weak argument. Given Morris' game last week there was little chance of starting Maroney, might have value now that he got injured though. Hixon was/is a WR4, so would rarely get points, and would have again been a massive risk in regards to starting. Thomas similarly after last week with Sims-Walker coming back in. In any case, there was a greater chance of those players doing zilch in comparison to what they did score.

Funnily enough, all three are ex-Dodgers :D :p

Blow it out your ass Zarko. :p

As far as CJ is concerned i really didn't have much alternative as you have made clear in the above post.
Pettigrew was another that hurt me, but oh well. We move onto next week.
Atleast i have a big win in BFFFL and Cutthroat.

Re: Alpha Dynasty - Discussion

Start out the firt few weeks with viable LBers or better, but only a single DLman of any worth. 6 weeks later and LBers a-hurtin', but have the 2nd-6th-15th DLmen with the 25th and Gaines Adams. For 'dynasty' things sure change quickly :p

Re: Beta Dynasty - Discussion

I'll try and work it out...

EDIT:No, it's all good.

The only two to take players on waivers after you are Goedy and Gee_Cats. All the others have taken their players as FAs.

It's important to distinguish that all available players are on waivers for 2 days after the last game of the week, from Tuesday morning to Thursday morning US time. You, and GC/Goedy have picked these players up during those times, whereas the others have waited until Thursday night (our time) to take players...

Re: Beta Dynasty - Discussion

Not sure if it's a lot of bad luck with non performing players or my team is just shit. I think it's just a little both, leaning more towards just shit. The past few bye weeks have really hurt but no excuse really. You will all be getting trade offers as I try to improve my line-up.

With so many teams going to RBBC, i reckon it's something we'll see more of in fantasy....people drafting/acquiring/rostering dual RBs from a team and starting them both. Like say, owning McFadden-Bush and Brown-Williams, trying to grab two teams' dual RBs, and just every week deciding which is the better match-up against another team and starting them both, or all four. Rather than previous years where you tried to own the undisputed starter of 3 or 4 teams and picked the best two to start every week.

I guess the same approach should be done with QB-WR tandems at all costs. Rodgers-Jennings-Driver if you can. Manning-Clark-Wayne if you can.

Re: Alpha Dynasty - Discussion

Liking the way my mob are headed at the moment, weakest spot was clearly at WR with one star (Fitz) and an ageing Driver. All of a sudden Sidney Rice is consistently catching balls, looking like rooks in Nicks & Knox going to be at least good FF players. I'm still high on Meachem, fast running out of patience with Ginn & Thomas though. Absolutely stacked at RB, gun QB Rodgers, would like to get better depth there.

GG can you get me out of this guys division? I may be 6-1 after tomorrow and still second. Put me in the East ffs!!;)

Thank **** for Rivers and Schaub. Started the season with those two along with Pennington, Garcia and Hill. Hopefully Andre Johnson's injury not too serious.
