Very lucky to beat Zarko this week. Was leading by 40 pts going into Skins-Eagles game thought I had it in the bag. DeSean pulls a couple huge plays out to make it close. If Cooley didn't get injured Zarko would have got up as Cooley looked to be a big part of the game plan early.

I think we may have done something similar last year, and I'm bored so I'll start it again this year -

Mid-Season Report Card - Communists

MVP - MJD: Dude is a stud, rarely has a bad game and has pulled 3TD games twice..

MVP (OFFENSE) - MJD gets the overall, but I'll give this one to Ronnie Brown. D's have not figured out how to stop the Wildcat, and you can't argue with 7TDs through 6 games..

MVP (DEFENSE) - Kirk Morrison: Was Antwan Odom before he snapped his achilles, but this dude just keeps racking up the tackles. A good consistent fantasy play..

Biggest Surprise -Nate Burleson: Loved him last year but tore his knee up in Week 1, and I was a little dubious about his prospects this year, but has been a solid play for me. Ricky Williams just missed out here.

Biggest Bust - Trent Edwards: With T.O. coming to town and all this talk about the no-huddle offense, I was pretty excited about his prospects. Thus far he has been dudsville.

Best Player Drafted - Miles Austin: Was keen on picking him up as I saw him as a big sleeper. Sky is the limit now for him.

Needs: QB, RB, TE, DL: Trent Edwards demise has hurt me a bit so I'm not as comfortable at that position as I thought I was. You can never have enough RB's and my depth there is very thin, brings tears to the eyes some of the stud RBs NDG has sitting on the bench. Also thought I was pretty solid at DL so I offloaded Peppers, then Odom went down so I'm fairly bare now...

Mid-Season Report Card - Warriors

MVP - Eli Manning

MVP (OFFENSE) - Believe it or not probably Eli Manning - has been pretty consistent bar the past 2 weeks.

MVP (DEFENSE) - Antrel Rolle is having a ripping season for me so far. Scoring TD's, laying tackles and getting picks.

Biggest Surprise Vernon Davis - having a ripping season for the 49ers. Won me this past game on his own.

Biggest Bust Calvin Johnson for this season so far, but i'm sure its only temporary.

Best Player Drafted - Probably Richard Seymour at the moment. None really stand out from my draft, i have a very young roster.

Needs: Pretty much everything. Solid at QB and RB but thats about it. Would love one good LB and another good WR.

Whaddya gonna do ey... Getting a bit unlucky matchup wise (2nd straight week where I would have beaten the majority of the teams) but thems the breaks. At least the guys are scoring ey. Up there in scoring, unfortunately in against as much as for :p

Mid-Season Report Card - Dodgers

MVP - Split between Ray Rice and DeSean Jackson

MVP (OFFENSE) - Again, one of the above two. Ray Ray has been stud PPR so far and DeSean's value is only increased with the punt return big plays.

MVP (DEFENSE) - DDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM. Love that guy @ DL :D

Biggest Surprise - McGahee, though the sheen is starting to wipe off as Goal line opportunities are more and more fleeting with Rice scoring from + 10 more often atm.

Biggest Bust - Probably Barber, though mainly due to injury rather than terrible play. Quinn was a let down even as a bye week filler.

Best Player Drafted - Mr Sims-Walker. Knew the guy was good, but damn he has been top notch when playing. Scores for 20+ three times and 12 points to go with 2 missed games and a bye (Week 1 missed due to Williamson getting the nod preseason, week 5 due to breaking team rules, so its not like the Injury Prone tag has been shown yet)

Needs: QB really. Palmer is good one week but probably need one more, definitely for the bye week. WR is strong, RB is good other than a lot of eggs being in the one basket.

Trade positives/regrets: Been very happy with the results so far. Sucks when sometimes goes wrong on the other end sometimes though. Mendenhall has been a pretty key grab, thought I was giving up an equal commodity for the year in Graham back in July. Jennings, whom I was gunning for all offseason, and finally got is still disappointing for his new team. Loved Durant, and when playing hes been a tackling machine but just gotta get on the field. Adams useless so far but didn't give up any commodities. Bennett an annoying hold due to being a great talent, but is a bit of a waste. Got rid of Choice whom it seems I've still needed to an extent.

MVP (DEFENSE) - Tyvon Branch

Biggest Surprise - Sebastian Janikowski

Biggest Bust - Eddie Royal

Best 2009 Player Drafted - Knowshon Moreno and Donald Brown

Trade Positives/Regrets - Positives...acquiring Chad Henne via offloading Jamarcus Russell. Negatives....No trade negatives, just poor cuts here and there, and an overall weak roster due to too many projects.

Needs - A bullet in the head.

Mid-Season Report Card - Terrors

MVP - Matt Schaub

MVP (OFFENSE) - Schaub closely followed by Rivers. Dallas Clark's stats better than most WRs

MVP (DEFENSE) - James Harrison just ahead of Leon Hall.

Biggest Surprise - Schaub not being injured as yet plus doing so well.

Biggest Bust - Ware's first 4 weeks. Malcolm Kelly, been waiting for this guy to come good last 2 seasons but just in a bad place.

Best Player Drafted - Jeremy Maclin. Will be a gun and will get more and more of the ball for remainder of the season.

Needs: RB although expect LT and Lynch to improve 2nd half of season.

Trade positives/regrets: Maclin, Coffee & DRC have all contributed. Probably dumping late draft pick Massaquoi was a mistake. Decided to keep Kelly instead.

Meh. Lets face it. All 4 teams in our division are shit and wont win it this year. Might aswell be happy with a tough schedule and take advantage of a flawed draft.

I cant see many squads better than Tonga's. His bench is on par with my starting squad.

Meh, I've got my moments, just inconsistent. 7th-2nd-8th-3rd-8th-4th-5th, should be top 6ish this week without a starting QB.

Wasn't it the same last year re: Tonga?

Either way, I don't have my first anymore, Redragger owns that in return for Mendenhall. I've got GG's, which is why I'm rooting for Manu :p

and one of us from the east is gonna make the playoffs and who knows, they could cause an upset or two, you never know what players are starting, injured, etc by then.

baggers even have a legitimate shot at div title!

What do you guys reckon?

To promote a little more activity how about altering the trade deadline from week 9 to week 14? No trading before playoffs. Or, just lifting it altogether?

People notoriously reluctant to trade anyway, and we've seen good integrity anyway from all teams in regards collusions etc. Plus, keeps people thinking about trades towards off-season.
