You said Kennedy should get a game over Graham based on preseason, and that Graham had been on the list for years and shown very little. I think our selectors probably have a good feel for where they are both at, I am happy with their decision as far as team selection goes.

I jumped on JMac for my DT and SC teams and by the looks of things, barring injuries to two or three mids ,he wont be getting to many games. There's just way to much competition in your midfield. You have about 6 players fighting for 3 spots. Rosa getting dropped sums it up really.

Don't write off J-Mac just yet. He is very highly rated by the coaching staff. Like Rosa, expect Chad Fletcher to come under serious pressure to hold his spot unless he delivers in a big way by about Round 3 or 4 at the latest. Unlike Freo, the Eagles have a history of rewarding youngsters with good form in the WAFL and will not hesitate to drop so called "senior" players to give the recruits a go. Meanwhile, they name the youngsters as emergencies for a few weeks in a row to keep them hungry and let them know that they are nearly there. By mid-season (at the latest), J-Mac will be a regular in the starting 22 for sure. Meanwhile Rosa must go back to the WAFL and prove himself again. At least he is still young and will get many more opportunities to do that. Unfortunately, I fear that this may be the last roll of the dice for Fletcher. Whilst the Eagles midfield may have lost the brilliance of Judd and Cousins, the depth is probably better now.

Our depth is amazing. If Staker or Graham dont perform you have Kennedy and Spangher waiting in the wings. Would really have liked to have seen Spangher make his debut. Didnt even crack an emergency...

Oh well his time will come!

lol, cant believe people are writing off rosa, he was very very consistent for us last year, yet he has a bad game in rd 1 and half of you write him off. Yes he needs to work on his kicking, but he's an infinitely better player than when he started with us. Just can't believe people write him off.

Rosa has been too wasteful with the ball. He needs to improve in that area. Kennedy will get his opportunities as the season unfolds. I like the inclusion of Ebert and Masten. Ebert at home in Adelaide is a good call. I can't see Wirra lining up in the back half other than as a loose man. Hunter v Graham will be a size match-up call, depending on which way Adelaide choose to go. Ebert will probably play wing / off the bench I'd guess. It is a good side and Adelaide is missing experienced midfielders, so it should be a great contest.

P.S Judd 2002 comes in after one game in the WAFL and the rest is history. Therefore Masten + Ebert = JuddX2 anyone? We can only hope.

My thoughts on Kennedy are that he will get his chance when he earns it/ the time is right.

Graham played almost every game in 2006, missed the GF because of match ups. Missed last year because of injury. I dont know how he is less deserving than someone who has been on the list five minutes.

Wouldn't have liked to go into the game with three new players.

How easy it is for people to forget Grahams very good 2006 and injury woes last year.

And whats with this crap about turfing him out to play Kennedy. Has Kennedy ever shown that he could play in the backline? No.

Kennedy is a forward so he is competing with Lynch, Hansen, Seaby etc for a spot.

I seriously do not agree or understand the J Graham bashers out there, are you ex RoJo bashers who now must move on to the next undeserving victim of you crusade of bullying.

Graham has a great record against the Crows and matches up on McGregor and Tippet very well IMO. This leaves Glass the opportunity to be the General back there.

As for Rosa.....hey buddy....you've just been given a serious wake up call mate. Its time you got some consistancy in your game as Masten, Ebert, J Mac and co are right on your heals. He's had a great pre season from all reports so get in and have a crack.

What, amazingly thin?
Outside of our current starting 22 the only ALF experienced players we have are Armstrong, who is a fringe player at best, Butler, who is constantly injured, and Rosa, who just got dropped.

Our list has tons of potential, but we have very little depth. If we get injuries to a couple key players we'll be looking at a bottom 8 finish in 2008. You're kidding yourself if you think the kids on our list can step up and be AFL standard players from day 1.
