Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who might want to see the Eagles train. According to the WCE website, the next training session will be at 9:30am Monday at Subiaco Oval aka Paterson's Stadium. All training reports, photos and video clips are greatly appreciated by those of us unable to attend. :thumbsu:

Re: Eagles Training - 9:30am Monday, January 31st @ Claremont Oval

I'll get in early.

The most important observation from todays training session is:

How is Shuey's finger?

Did he train at all, was it strapped, in a brace or has he got a caste up to his elbow?

Tom Swift and Darling .. how are they training?

Was watching some U18's highlights and I still can't believe we ended up with Darling, what a gun in the making.

Re: Eagles Training - 9:30am Monday, January 31st @ Claremont Oval

Can one of the the moderator's kindly change the wording of the title of this thread from Claremont Oval to Paterson's Stadium to avoid any confusion. Thank you very much.
Done - better late than never ;)

If you need this kind of thing done it's easier to just PM one or all of us - we don't always see these posts.

Believe it or not SE, some of us will still attend training and provide reports even if you don't remind us every 3 seconds...

Cheers for that. I just didn't want someone going to Claremont Oval by mistake and being disappointed.

Point taken. Thanks Larrikin.

Only popped down for an hour.

Quite a few players not training with main group today. Masten, Gaff, Hamp, Lycett, Mcgovern, Brennan were there but just mucking around in front of goals.

No sign of Shuey, Kerr, Weedon, Butler, Broome, Darling, Waters, Schofield.

Blayne Wilson training with main group for the most part, good to see him out there.

Strijk was running his arse off, expecting a big year from him, training session MVP.

Glass and Cox were both moving well.

Dalziell trained well, his field kicking was very good.

Swift also running very hard but still fumbling and field kicking still needs work.

Lynch was still up to his old tricks, doing silly things in the full ground exercise.

Stevens attacking the ball like a mad man, even after getting his head taped up for a cut.

Mike Hussey was there for some reason, watching training and doing an interview with all 3 channels. He is limping horribly...

As I said only there for an hour, that is all.

WELL, training was great to watch !!

Beautiful new green grass.

It started off slowly, and gradually picked up.

I didn't see Shuey either so that role model impetus to get things at a high intensity was not there.

However the training got better and better as the time passed by.

It would be interesting to see who's body language was leadership style to get everyone to great intensity.

The good things

Cox has had some formula 1 oil put in his joints.
He is running almost like Sebastian Co.
Kennedy looked impressive and so did Mitch Brown, so we have a genuine replacement if Schofield is not there.

Bones has also had an injection of oil in his hips and not moving too badly at all.

Priddis is covering heaps of ground and definately faster and more nimble.
Definately has a new (coached?) running action, with energy from the hips.

His kicking was good.

Koby Stevens refuses to listen to Sumich and went in with no fear and got belted in the head, After bleeding and putting a bandage on his head, he went on back with full gusto only too almost get knocked out and wacked in the face, and had to go into the changerooms and finish training, nursing a ______________ ( there are spies here) .

McKenzie seems cooler in a crisis, maybe watching Glass is doing the trick.

The winner of todays prize.

Strijk - excellent kicking, running and energy

Natanui, back from layoff completed training nicely although a little sluggish in his first day back.

Overall, the speed of movement has increased, I'd say.

Not looking too bad.

If we get out best team out there, we will easily climb the ladder.

Interesting to know how the other teams are going.
Probrably all training the house down.

The close in work for tough game situations at the end was at good tempo

Cheers Prankster, good to hear about Dalziell's kicking. He's someone we've all forgotten, most likely on purpose, but lets see if he can add something to our team this year.

Thanks GE.

I always look forward to your training reports, they are so much more colourful than most others.:D;)

Not saying I completely understand exactly what's going on but still very enjoyable to read.:thumbsu:

Hurn has the legs, Stevens the arms.

Lycett and Darling have very big legs as well, almost on par to Hurn's maybe bigger when first drafted.
