We have only failed twice on the big stage since 2011 being the 2012 gf and the 2015 qf. The stakes are massive tonight. This club doesn't fail on the repeat attempt. 2013 and 2014 we taught Sydney lessons when it mattered in finals, and we all know what happened in the 2015 redemption GF.

Expect an extremely disciplined hawthorn tonight, similar to Port away.

Happy with this.

Burton will now play more midfield I reckon.

He might spend some time there but not a whole lot. Coming back from a long lay-off - not sure he'll have the fitness to spend an extended period in there. Might stick Sicily down back and roll Hodgey and Silk through the middle for longer periods.

They were talking on SEN when will Clarko give the pow wow talk to the players and all agree it won't be this week..
All Clarko cares about is finishing top 4 not top spot which is why I think they won't give their all tonight..
If we lose this, it puts considerable pressure on next week's game. They get a rest in 2 weeks time, why start now?

Go out, go hard. Intimidate. Unrelenting pressure. Go Hawks!

Gunston stays in! Phew!!

Doubt it. Hasn't done it at VFL level so not sure he'll do it on a longer ground at AFL level.

Didn't he only play 59% game time last week too? Expect he'll play his minutes in the forward 50 and Poppy, Cyril and Breust will all get centre square time and Gunners on the wing.

Just my thoughts though....

Dunno what to think. As other posters have said clarkson seems to focus on top for for a premiership chance, wouldn't be overly surprised to see a somewhat flat hawthorn come out. Lose this and it might be the drive needed to realise they are mortal and also put the pressure straight on Sydney's back. Either way tonight is not the end.

Good late change i reckon. Im tipping Sicily to get back too his earlier season form tonight and take some of those trademark contested marks.

Smart by the club listing Langford as 'Illness' cos he can still play at Box Hill tomorrow if he were to catch an early flight back.

Lot easier to recover from an 'illness' in 24 hours then a 'corked thigh' or similar.

Done that a couple of times and if the weather was pleasant all good.

Trouble is the drive is 1.5 hours then 35 mins by train, then you sit at one end of a ridiculously long, open, flat stadium where the players up the other end look like frikken ants . . and . . and (end rant).

It is that and the poxy Wet Toast supports which drive me around the twist!
