East Meets West Day

Anyone planning on going this year?

I've been to the last couple and it's been a great day out. The players are usually really accessible and willing to chat.

Seems this year though the format has been changed and it appears that the kids are gonna get to have a run around and a bit of "training" with the players before the obligatory autographs and photos.

I noticed that it is later this year too...now 10am instead of 8.30/9am.

I'll be there, hope it's not too hot.

Mostly sunny next Saturday and a top of 27 degrees DexterTan. Not too hot which is good. Thursday will be 39 degrees. The East West day is good in that you can interact with the playing group more easily as the crowd isn't as big. I even last year spoke briefly with our CEO Simon Garlick.

To be honest I'm kind of disappointed in the new format which sounds like a junior clinic. I live in the southeast and don't have kids, and therefore see little point in going this time around (I have been to the last four or five of these). As I work full time I don't get to go to normal training sessions.

Therefore my first look at the team will probably be at the intra-club game.

I don't have kids and I work fulltime, but I'm still going.

Going to have a chat with the rookies and see if I can get a word with Simon Garlick or Peter Gordon.

I thought it was 10 till 1 but i recieved a email yesterday saying its 11 to 1. Find it hard to believe they will fit everything in in two hours. Doea anyone know what the correct time is?
Was defiantly 10 but the website says 11 now so they must have changed the time this week for some reason.
So 11am to 1pm is it i suppose.

One of the real features of this day in the past is the access to a lot of the players for a chat and photo without having to queue up in front of a tent. The changed format says "a selection" of players will be available for autographs and pictures. I'm planning on bringing my kids, however both are a bit young for the "clinic". Is there going to be a realistic opportunity for them to meet the players or will I be wasting my time this year?
