Mr Eagle Trophy
Mr Eagle Trophy

The best clubman award is named after former captain and near 300-gamer Mr Eagle, and is presented by the current captain. In the past it has been won by a variety of folks who have contributed in their own big or small ways, from current Royals leader The Filth Wizard, via the tidy contributor that is Milera2Betts, to more recently the admin elect NaturalDisaster who we traded for a league legend.

As most of you know I've been in this game for a fair while, and have been running the club since middle of Season 26. Throughout that time I've largely run the club with a small leadership group to doublecheck my decisions, and a few volunteers around the place to help out with bits and bobs.

This season I ran short on time as outside of SFA commitments took away from my contributing to the league and the team as much this season (thank god Wayneo left the committee), and during that time I had someone step up and start taking the load. You've seen a lot of it in the festival's presentation; he organised the match summaries you've read through to get here, and he's also compiled the larrikin award votes for the season.

Chipmunk has been a revelation for not only the Hawks, but the SFA, and probably BigFooty as a whole. Whether it's the Chess board, running random media like Only Connect (I still don't get this game), and you'll also see him invading foreign match threads every week. All of this raises not only his profile but the profile of the East Side Hawks within the league.

It's probably worth publicising at this point that Chipmunk will join me as co-captain for Season 31 as I transfer myself out of the role. As mentioned he's got a super knack for organising, and the larrikin results over the past two seasons shows he's got the respect of his team-mates.

So it is without further ado I recognise the future Hawks captain this season, and present Chipmunk with the season 30 Mr Eagle Trophy as this season's best clubperson.

Congratulations!

Youuuuu....this wasn't in the spreadsheet!

Wow. It's massive shoes to follow the longest-serving Captain and thanks to everyone for the support. I'm excited to take the Hawks to the next stage of their history.

We have some brilliant things planned and the Eyrie will be a great place to be over the next few seasons.

Like I said you didn't pay the gst component. You still owe $193.45 with interest accruing daily. This account is in 60days so unless you relish the idea of heavies knocking on your door!!! Cough up. I still think you are a tight arse, sh*t sportsman too. We played alot and I took home the chocolates.
I paid it. Please stop quoting me. It's getting a bit too far. This gag has run its course

Apologies for the extended dance break (kids and dinner and bed and stuff took over)... but good news everybody! The festival is now a three day event!
Just get to the damn announcement, I've had my "welcome to the club" speech loaded for 3 days now!

Biggie-est 5th
The Biggie-est cup

And now for the climax of the festival, the presentation of the Biggie-est cup.

Round by round you’ve seen the top 5 players in each game, but don't forget that everyone who gets game time scores points in the New Player Ratings System (except for one unfortunate game where jackenny lost points). We’ve seen the first three leaderboard updates, we know who was out in front. Well, there are no more rounds to recap because the sim hated up this season (what did you guys do, slap it's baby?).

So let's reveal our top 5 best players in the season 30 match simulations!

In 5th place
The most accurate shot for goal this season, and co-winner of the YOTC plate:

Biggie-est 5th.PNG

Starting of consistently at HFF, IMS exploded when moved to full forward topped the player ratings in rounds 10, 12, and 13, whilst placing in the top 5 in rounds 1, 8 and 9.

Biggie-est 4th
In 4th place
Last season's runner up:

Golumless.jpg
Golumless

Biggie-est 4th.PNG

Golly played out his second season straight at centre half-forward, making full forwards look good. Pity they (mostly) couldn't kick straight. Golly didn't top any rounds, but placed top 5 in rounds 3, 7, 10, 12, 13, and 14.

Biggie-est 3rd
In 3rd place
Your captain, who was really sweating on the New Player Ratings System making a mockery of over awarding midfielders again:

Biggie-est 3rd.PNG

The All-SFA Centre achieved top ratings in round 14, and placed top five in rounds 2, 5, 7, 8, and 10.

Biggie-est 2nd
In 2nd place
The biggie-est beneficiary of the New Player Rating System:

eth-dog.jpg
eth-dog

Biggie-est 2nd.PNG

eth-dog has locked down centre half-back since arriving in S29, and achieved top rating in rounds 9 and 11. He placed top five in rounds 6 and 15.

Biggie-est 1st
And the winner of the Biggie-est cup

In 1st place
On the back of a very strong season on the qooty field:

The Jesus.jpg
The Jesus

Biggie-est 1st.PNG

The Jesus was a model of consistency across Season 30, and achieved top ratings in no rounds. He placed top 5 in rounds 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 14, and 15.

Congratulations on taking home the Biggie-est cup in Season 30!

FotB Wrap Up

And there you have it folks. That puts a bow on Season 30. Some might call it polishing a turd, but it was our turd and the real fun was the mess we made along the way, right?

Here's a recap of the awards and winners:

You can view the updated record of the Club History here.

To wrap up Season 30 I'd like to acknowledge firstly The Jesus for dropping by again. It's been a tough year, and I always enjoy our conversations. I know you're quite the transient soul, and I hope you find a lot of enjoyment in the playground that is the Baghdad Bombers in S31.

With that said,
we've got a replacement already.

There is a sad tone to this wrap-up. As you all know late in the season Loonerty announced he was departing the league, and to be completely fair it's a bloody great reason to do so. This hyper-intelligent young bloke needs to make the most of his noggin and get on with becoming Doctor Loonerty.

I've played all but 16 games in my career with Loons, and in my rookie season I was somewhat unaware he played for our opposition in the Roys. I think even at that stage fitzroybowiedog might've been hoping he'd be able to palm the Roys leadership off at to him at some point. He arrived at the Hawks in Season 23 and was immediately my favourite team-mate to banter with, and he also capped a magnificent first season with the Hawks being named to the All SFA team. He was around for the Season 24... incident, and part of the leadership group that made the coin toss decision to not re-sim the grand final (which Tony Lynn 15 has haunted him for ever since) due to the teams being recorded out of order. He took on the captaincy in season 25 and was All SFA fullback, leading the club for 26 games before handing off in season 26 due to free time restrictions. In season 28 he returned to form dominating the league and earning another All SFA berth before being screwed over by the crazy Mobbs algorithm.

And here we are at the end of Season 30, one of the greatest Hawks is calling it quits. Let's hope it's not for too long and we see him back on the East Side in the future. Thanks Loonerty.

With that downer, we're at the end. Season 30 is officially over for the Hawks, and the off-season begins. Enjoy, get refreshed, play some state of origin, and we'll see you all in Season 31.

Thank you for the kind words Agent93. It has been a wonderful time with the Hawks and I wish you all the very best.
Remember that I am retiring but I won't be truly leaving you.
I will live on through the Force.

If you're going to be a doctor I would recommend less force and softer hands
