• Random stat #1: Shermy remains the sole Hawk with 100% time on ground with PMBangers and Agent93 spending time on the bench against the Demons
• Random stat #2: Agent93 remains the sole Hawk with 100% scoring accuracy, with NinjaSwan scoring a behind against the Swamprats in Rd 8.
• por_please_ya is the first Hawk this season to tally 200 disposals with her 31 touches on the weekend.
• The goal scoring accuracy differential in the last game: 31%. Yikes.

Another heavy loss in Shermy 's 250th and PhenomenalV1 's 100th game ends our dreams of Top 4

First up, we held our club presentation for the game milestones and to Zoops for running the SFA Gun award the previous round:

This, plus a win for por_please_ya in PMBangers ' sheep game meant we had a winning mentality going into the game. Unfortunately that ended swiftly as the Dragons left into a 4 goal lead in the first quarter and an 8 goal lead at Half Time.

Our first goal was for Milera2Betts , seemingly doing it all herself:

1 : 9.34 {rFP} - No mark taken as Milera2Betts and VandoHawk wrestle for position.
1 : 9.38 {lBP} - VandoHawk threads his way through traffic.
1 : 9.42 {lBP} - Where did Milera2Betts come from? Great tackle.
1 : 9.47 {rFP} - Milera2Betts sucks it up like a dustbuster and he's off and running.
1 : 9.51 {rFP} - Milera2Betts about twenty-five out.
1 : 9.55 {rFP} - And he gets it.

A goal right at the end of the half by SM gave us a chance:

2 : 22.29 {lW} - Bradesmaen is the target but he's outplayed by SM.
2 : 22.33 {rW} - SM has possession.
2 : 22.37 {rW} - SM has latched onto a torp!.
2 : 22.42 {rW} - And a little dance from SM as the ball sails through.

East Side Hawks : 5.3.33

...and we won the third quarter with 4 goals and the 100-gamer joining the party. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be and the Dragons ran away with it in the final quarter. 3 goals and 8 tackles from PMBangers was best for us, with PhenomenalV1 also chipping in with 3 goals and por_please_ya with 30 disposals. Special thanks for Phenom for writing the OPs as well.

We'll try and arrest this form slump against the Bears in a massive 10th v 11th match. Win and we can look up to getting that clump of teams around the 8, lose and it will be a mountain to climb. Have a good week everyone!

A big win gives us a shot at finals

This was a must-win game against the side above us, and the message was made clear at the training sessions:


A bold selection call was made to put Itsmyshow back at FF after a little time away. What would the impact be? We needn't have worried, as we raced to a good start. Perennial bookie-basher Milera2Betts rewarded first goalscorer backers with the first goal:

1 : 2.52 {lBP} - Flicks it to I Dont Care.
1 : 2.57 {lBP} - Milera2Betts applies the tackle.
1 : 3.01 {rFP} - Milera2Betts hits the ground running.
1 : 3.05 {rFP} - Sets sail for home..
1 : 3.09 {rFP} - And the ball bounces through - unbelievable.

A goal for the in-form por_please_ya and followups by the dynamic duo IMS and PhenomenalV1 meant we were 32 points at the end of the first quarter. 11kgm joined the party in the second quarter and we were 10 goals up at Half Time, to the delight of our fans and to the shock of the Bears:


The Bears did come back in the second half but 7 tackles from Biggie and PMBangers repelled the attacks. Biggie drew 7 frees to disrupt the flow as well! Other 20+ disposal performers were Hate , SM and Agent93 . The main attention after the game, however, were on the main goalkickers, with Itsmyshow and PhenomenalV1 on 5 each and 11kgm on 4.

So we enter a situation were 4 wins from our final 6 games will get us to finals. A much better situation than we were at before, and with 4 games at the Eyrie, the fans have hope. Great job everyone!

Double the stats update!

• Hey we won! Goals were plundered as Itsmyshow, PhenomenalV1, and 11kgm combined for 14 to outscore our round 10 total of, uh, 10.
• TY24 combined with himself to kick 1 goal 4, with some of the most apt sim commentary ever produced.
• Milera2Betts did the same in Rd10, but she flipped the script against the Bears and didn't miss a shot.
• por_please_ya notched her 250th disposal in Rd 11. Shermy notced his 100th.
• Hate's starting to get a reputation as a one way runner giving up 5 goals in the past two rounds, making him the second most scored on Hawk for the season.
• Hi Zoops, Golumless *nods*
• With a little luck Biggie will rack up career disposal 6000 within the next couple of rounds. SM should have his 2000th career kick this week.

No idea, no other team tracks them and it's not a league compiled stat.

Extra special random stat of the day: Since we switched PMBangers from RR to Ro, his DT average over that time has been 82.8, a big 18% jump from the previous 69.9 average from his first 7 games. He's also tonned up twice, taking his total of 100+ DT scores to three, which is still way behind Hate.
