Isn't the AGM on tommorow?
Yes.
Curious timing that this was leaked a day and a half before the AGM. Somebody somewhere is clearly trying to stir the pot.

Isn't the AGM on tommorow?
Therein lies the issue...his self appointed board won’t sack him.Ed’s speech today was utterly shameful, full of spin and deflection. A horrible day in the club’s history. I hope he gets the sack tomorrow!
Yes.

Staggering isnt it?
It found racism at Collingwood had resulted in "profound and enduring harm" to First Nations and African players which "affected them, their communities, and set dangerous norms for the public".
Eddie: "This is a proud day."
I mean seriously.
Lets hire the right person, not just for the sake of diversity.I don't think the board will need to " grow a spine" and sack Ed, as headlined in a certain paper. I think after Ed has had time to consider the report and the backlash following today's presser, l really feel he will step down earlier then the 12 months, maybe in the next few weeks. This will surely be taking a mental toll on him, and for the betterment of him and his family, he will step aside.
I hope the club then looks to appointing Jodie Sizer as the interim, hopefully permanent new President. What better person to be the face of change at the club and to guide us through the murky waters at present, to a new beginning. She was very impressive at the press conference, and to me looks like a natural leader, who would have the respect of the whole club.
Lets hire the right person, not just for the sake of diversity.
I won't cancel my membership but my love for the club has been seriously tarnished. I don't see that changing whilst Ed remains. I agree that Sizer would be a great choice if she's available to do it.I think she is the right person. CEO of PWC, she knows how to lead a big organisation. She responds, as seen in the presser yesterday, with well thought out, measured answers, and really seems to get what direction this club needs to go in, going forward. I think she is a great representative for our club in a time which, we need a steady hand, with a voice of reason and hope for the future.
Like it or not right now this club is hated more then ever by the masses, you just have to read the articles in the media, read the negative comments from even politicians, to the distain from the general public.
This club is on it's knees at the moment, and a change to show we are serious about what we preach needs to happen today.
Personally, today l am seriously thinking of cancelling my sons and my memberships, after the train wreck of yesterday. There seems to be to much negativity surrounding the club more often than not recently, so unless we see a change forced by the board, if Ed refuses to leave on his own accord, then not sure l can continue as a member. In saying that, Ed has been fantastic for our club in most part, but right now l feel we are watching a desperate individual trying to deflect the truth to save his own brand. I need to see someone in there, who will fight to save the brand of the club.
I won't cancel my membership but my love for the club has been seriously tarnished. I don't see that changing whilst Ed remains. I agree that Sizer would be a great choice if she's available to do it.
We need a fresh start.

This is the sad reality of where we have ended up. How do we explain the club to our children?Yes, l have to think hard about cancelling my memberships. My son is 13, and asking me "do we have racists in the club", at a time where racial equality is at the fore front of the world at the moment, and always should be. So for this to be happening to our club at the moment, is a real issue for us with kids who we raise telling them that you treat everyone with respect no matter their culture, colour, religion etc....then we watch the disaster of yesterday, and it goes in the face of what we tell our kids not to support or accept in society.
I did tell my son though, that the club has done alot of positive things to stamp out racism over the past few years, and alot of the more disgusting acts of racism were done years ago, well before he was born eg. Nicky Winmar. I also told him that any sporting club in any sporting league around the world unfortunately would have pockets of systemic racism inbedded in their history somewhere along the line, but the world is different now for the better, and like our club they are trying to correct or have corrected the wrongs of the past.
Well, who had access to the Report? The interesting part of this, is who leaked the report to the HS?? Who left recently with an agenda against Ed?

I often wear my Collingwood polo to school, I won’t be doing that anytime soon. There is a deep sense of shame that has been intensified by Eddie’s performance yesterday. The club can’t move forward with him any longer. Surely this is clear to the board.
I expect / hope he will step down at the AGM. The longer this drags out, the more damage is being done.
Why would any child choose to start supporting the Pies now?
Well, who had access to the Report?
The Board
The Authors
Some Club Administrators
The Printers
Its not the type of thing you'd leave lying around for someone to pinch. Someone from the above groups has leaked it. I can only think of one person from those groups (other than the printers & Authors) who have left the Club. Easy target. Was he that pissed off?PLAYERCARDSTARTPlayer not foundPLAYERCARDEND
Happy for it all to pass, as long as it’s fixed and the systems are implemented, new chapter, better culture and some on field success.Whole episode today was sadly ironic. Once again Eddies big mouth led him to completely derail the report. Instead of it being about resolving the issue, he has made it about him (again) with a poor choice of words. Remember how desperate he was to resolve the Goodes ape incident only to then refer to him as King Kong. He just blows himself up.
Only problem is the club has been dragged into the mud. Anyway, guys and gals, try not to get too upset or down about this, sh*t happens, the majority of the supporter base etc are good people with good intentions so hang in there and this too shall pass. Its now up to the board to do what needs to be done.

Same here, but I'd be shocked at anyone leaking it to be honest. And after watching that train wreck of a press conference, I'm convinced it wasn't a "controlled leak"I was thinking the same individual, but hoping that l am incorrect!!
Where does it say the report ends in 2014?There are some delayed reactions here. We’ve been talking about the Lumumba allegations for several years now.
The report ends in 2014. Lumumba and Krakeour have not been at Collingwood for a number of years now.
And From what we know subsequent players like Armstrong, Varcoe, Wells, Kirby etc have not experienced any racism.
The cultural change looks to have been effected as far as the playing group goes
Now it’s up to the organisation to make sure it has the proper processes in place
