gday bigfooty fans

at work today bumped into a person from roxburgh park and we had a chat... he told me last year at the agm meeting that the auditor or whoever does the books could not account for a handy sum of money... when asked about where this money is the hiereachy's at the club said they could not say where the money is due to "football confidentiality" and not to worry about it.

also told me the club was fined $1500 or $15000 (he said $15000, but thar sounds too much) for the event that occured against maribyrnong park's juniors due to racism. the club is also on a good behaviour bond and has everyone on a zero tolerance level.

it isnt all good for roxburgh park behind the scences. has anyone heard this or know anything about it?

Fair to say that media scrutiny won't quite be the same at an EDFL club.

I think it's also fair to say that no one will really care about his antics now that he is out of the AFL system

The pineapple is ripe and on the money......!! Be great for the kids and a massive recruit for the club - providing he enjoys the comp will be very hard for the opposition to match up on him - same as murphy (marby) and martin (APW).

Most of the so called superstars dont started training untill one week before round one.......? They be right they have a huge following if you know what l mean, will struggle tho, my prediction is they wont be playing finals.

We didnt have a preseason trip last year you tossa! "Wan ker youself" never heard of that one....might use that one during the finals this year, feel free to come and watch. Cheers

Seriously you really need to get your hand off it jovannaidoo, your club(roxy) have been in the comp a couple of years, one player does not make a team. l do agree he will be great for your club and the junior teams, but ask yourself this question is he worth the trouble and the money? He wouldnt play for less than $1200 a game.

as for improving i think you will but have heard that u have lost your captain as he has returned to his old club and also brett macdonald.
Not to sure of all these ex afl players u r talkin about but did watch the game you guys played against tullamarine and you wiped the floor wif them.
have also heard young player daniel thornycroft is in doubt my source is another young player, from a different club , dont remember the kid.
what number was he?
how do u rate him?

tony romeo has gone bak 2 coburg districts, and brett mcdonnell has gone to douttas. not great losses, i promise you. bretts brother is a much better player, and a much better bloke.

as for daniel thorneycroft, i have seen him on the track in the last couple of weeks, and he is looking good for rnd 1. he is a very good footballer, and was 2nd in the b&f last yr as an under 18.

the katoulas brothers will b there, as well as benny dollman, john rombotis, paul greenham, and a couple of other guys from st kevins.

It also happened at a powerhouse club of a grade last year 2. A big internal audit was done at the club and no one was found responsible but it is funny that this never got out as the club covered up well and the club in question is looking at who is working in the area to trap the person this year. They are looking at recouping the money in a couple of weeks.

A user name will not help. A lot of people working at clubs as volunteers, hold professional positions, and suggestions such as yours, if they are goundless constitute libel, and could damage a person's professional standing. For your own good think carefully, and if you do know that suggested shortfall is fact and can be proven, remove any inuendo from your post. If it is hearsay, you are vulnerable.

thanks for the legal advice deefer but i actually have not named anyone so how is that libel? Also we know people work at footy clubs voluntary and they are the backbone of all clubs so the success starts with them. Been there done that and this board is to put infrormation out there. Cheers

Correct you have not named anybody. But you are pointing people in a specific direction, and by inference the associations can be drawn. Yes the forum is for information, and if your data is fact, there is not a problem. If it speculation, or hearsay, totally different issue. I am not having a crack at you at all, please don't read it that way. But if you look at what you have posted, "a power house a grade club", "don't take the airport turn off", already one person has speculated "Keilor". The treasurer at Keilor works for a bank, and if he reads this data, could also draw a conclusion, and feel compromised. Personally, unless I knew all the facts and was sure, I would not post on an issue like that.

Agreed deefer but it is forum and alot of posts on here are scuttlebut. I did not and have not named any club or person or what direction i am travelling on the freeway, but do know the facts and the club involved and the point being that this has happened and and in reality it probably has happened at every club as you put alot of faith in people. Lets all move on.....
