Thanks for the information Pantsless - really interesting about Australian National Airways, you'd have to think that school would have to have been the ground as ANA would have had somewhere for their staff to be active in their housing plan. Just looked at the map, is the school you mention Penola College on William St?Was just going the list again.
I noticed Australian National Airways. I know nothing about the football club but there’s a area on the west side of Glenroy that borders the Moonee Ponds Creek where all street names end in -ana and it because was built by Australian National Airways to house all the workers.
My mate still lives in the area and when he bought the place in the 90s, he told me the school used to be a football ground.

Great History too on St Oliver's!

I played under 13s with pressies at Fairbairn Park.
Pressies under 15s at the time were all the guys that went on to the record consecutive senior premiership years.
Essendon Baps (who merged with Ascot Pressies) played on the adjacent ground at Fairbairn Park.
Was dark blue from memory?Hey Typhoon,
Thanks for the extra info on Essendon Baps - do you happen to recall the jumper they wore?
If you have a moment, take a look at Essendon District Football League Wikipedia Page - if you can help me fill in any of the blanks that would be great! It's impossible to find information on a lot of the former clubs on the internet as it was so long ago...
Ess Baptists before the WW2, then a name change they became Essendon Baptist St, Johns and added the “EBSJ” monogram. Eventually became Essendon Tullamarine, and now Tullamarine Demons FC.Was dark blue from memory?
Edit: Found this.. “Essendon Baptists' navy blue guernsey but a white EBSJ monogram was added to the chest.”
I played for Corpus Christi as a junior in the early to mid 90’s. The Jumper was indeed a Red jumper with a Yellow V.I thought red jumper with yellow vee, but same can’t really 100%
Green with a Red Yoke (Like Melbourne) If I remember correctly in the mid 80sRecall St.Olivers wore red and green stripes, but not quite 100%.
Im positive I played v Aberfeldie Park at Aberfeldie Park in Geelong colors in Senior footy in 1987.... Pretty sure they were not a Senior club in 1988. Pretty sure I played juniors against them at Fairburn Park in 1985 or 1986.Thanks Rayzor, really appreciate all of the Moonee Ponds info - I've updated the history for Moonee Ponds, Aberfeldie Park and Essendon YC accordingly. I'll create a picture of the Moonee Ponds jumper and upload it soon too.
Do you happen to know the nickname for Moonee Ponds, Aberfeldie Park and Essendon YC? And the footy jumper of Essendon YC?
If you can take a look at the EDFL Wikipedia Page former clubs section and pass on any information that might be missing, that would be fantastic as it sounds like you know a lot about the league. Appreciate your help!
Hey, this has been a great conversation. I played for Strathmore in the late 70’s and I remember the Gladstone Park jumper as being green and blue diagonal stripes.. not red and blue.
Gladstone Park to my memory started in a Port Melbourne jumper, then later change to a Red jumper with a blue sash.Hey, this has been a great conversation. I played for Strathmore in the late 70’s and I remember the Gladstone Park jumper as being green and blue diagonal stripes.. not red and blue.
No doubt true, but GP played in vertical, Port Melbourne stripes when they played in the WRFL in the late 80s early 90s.Gladstone Park to my memory started in a Port Melbourne jumper, then later change to a Red jumper with a blue sash.

I can’t remember the reason for changing it but it went from the Mickey Mouse version to Its a Grand Old Flag in the early 90’s.I notice Doutta stars used to have the Mickey mouse show song as their club song. Now they dont Anyone know why?
Do you remember Broady being kicked out? I googled it but too obscure.I can’t remember the reason for changing it but it went from the Mickey Mouse version to Its a Grand Old Flag in the early 90’s.
Thank you, I have updated Wikipedia with this informationJust a note on St. Christophers, the school wore the maroon and navy jumpers, the junior football club in the EDFL wore purple and gold vertical stripes, with gold shorts and purple socks.
