Agree with you there Rhyscon21, he is 6'4 and can play, but with all the other players greenvale have losted e.g Bicer etc who can win the game off there own boot, simple he cant(Bloomfield).
Rhyscon21 in reagards to greenvale they have gained some good pick ups Alio who many people are unaware of who he is, l promise they will by round 9!
In terms of strathmore they look great on paper, but its just that on paper at the moment, Money seems not to be a problem down there with Hille!
Players they have picked up like Williams, Tate, Barnard etc are good pick ups, l still think by far Winter is the key there, he showed last year in the finals when it counted and was unstopable.... he is a big time player in my mind and thats when you remember players in my opinion!
They also have some very unrated players there like Morrison, Little, Maggiore and the list can go on forever.
Bottom line they will be hard to stop, but what will be lefted of the club when Hille leaves is the answer l want to know?

great question allears....the strong youth of strathmore is being lost to the wallets of these pick ups. the talent being pushed away is remarkable...hopefully hille can see what balance needs to be taken to ensure success as well as blooding young hopefuls which are the real future of the club/competition and should be encouraged to play at the highest level this area has to offer

Chris Smith will add some value to the Big man department at Greenvale

I doubt Skar would do anything to stuff Strathmore up in the longer term. He is a great Club man. Agree he needs to get some balance, but I think thet will get it right.

They always have good juniors coming through

Interesting earlier someone rated Ogston as one of the leagues toughest, probably got that from watching Hille in his junior days.

Bottom line wizza14, if the younger players are good enough and take the next step to play A grade footy he will play them, there is no doubt about that Nick! I just hope these young blokes dont waste there time trying to play vfl resis, its a waste of time in my opinion!
My advice to the young blokes at strathmore is hang around give it chance and then if you dont get a fair go walk away, then you can say you have had a crack!

Agreed, but

do you think Smilth will benefit being in a more talented playing group

Totally, other players can make others perform better, different team, culture are all big factors in getting the best out of yourself and players!
But at the end of the day you have to remember he is a ruckman and it all starts with him, first tap of the game etc, the ruckman sets the scene for the game.

Seen a bit of him over the last few years,

Has great pace for a 6'5 guy, strong mark, kicking lets him down, but often wonered how he would go an a wing, would be hard to match up on, and damaging if allowed to push forward un checked ??

lm Sure, well they are just as much to blame as Hille then, they havent given it a go.....its simple they have taken the easy way but on the hand l can see there point of view Nick!
Any normal club should have signed(contract) up all these young blokes on the first couple fo training nights at $100 a game (base payment), so then they are bound to the club for the year!

I think this year greenvale will find out how good MacPherson is as a coach......was it the players/money that done for him or was it a bit of both?
Time will tell Jama!

I don't think the deal GV offered was that different to his set up with KP, I also think he was just sick of the turn over at KP. Some of his closest mates in Barclay etc pulling out and the want to have some success meant he was easily lured by the Jets.

Yeah l can understand that, KP do have a high turn over of players!
GV will be up there again this year there is no doubt about that Jama, l just dont think they can match strathmore at there best.
Anythink can happen tho?

Not sure about your comments about Bloomfield. Was the number 1 game breaker for the Jets last year. Can definately win games off his own boot and did. Massive loss even though he'll still play the odd game. Do you know who G'vale have picked up or lost?

Jett its simple, who is a bigger loss to greenvale Bicer or Bloomfield?
My opinion is Bicer, is a proven ball winner and match winner in big games, lm sorry to say l rate blokes in big games when the prssure is on, you never remember players in april, march, june and july lm affraid!
They signed a bloke up by the name of A.Alio, is a gun and super star and will just as good as Bicer and so on!
They have losted a few players like Tate, Garbutt etc not sure on who else?

So how do you know how they'll go???

Both quality players so it would be splitting hairs but bloomfield didn't get the chance to play finals last year

Saw Bloomfield play in the 2004 grandfinal......he should have stayed home jett! My opinion only jett, You couldnt possible put Bicer and Bloomfield in the same boat, your kidding yourself if you think you can he(Bicer) has the runs on the board!
