Its a stupid idea. Firstly, its naive to think that clubs are only spending around 70k - more like 120-200k. Secondly, get Douttas and Craigieburn and probably Oak Park up into the highest group, Craigieburn would spend far more than most EDFL clubs - they have their own poker machines remember!
Why not just have marbi park in its own league for 200k and over a year?

This is something the Government needs to address, X amount of dollars from all Pokies Venues have to be spent in the community they exist in. Problem is for local sporting Clubs getting access to the right Australian Tax Office status = deductible gift recipients http://www.ato.gov.au/nonprofit/content.asp?doc=/content/34490.htm is almost immpossible. While Surf Clubs, Scouts groups and such have no such problem Local sporting clubs go without.

Why did you let him slip through the net - would be handy for the struggling EK, did u try and get him to play this year. He'd dominate the B comp surely?

No edfl clubs have pokies. The Crazyburn sports club sponsor the Eagles only don't they. I may be wrong but didn't think they can use pokie $$$ to buy players. If they could use it they haven spent it wisely this year. They seem to be struggling - unfortunately one of their beta recruits - NOT - in Dave Saliba got hurt apparently last week. Poor fella - was looking forward to seeing the little champ in action in 2 weeks time

Great Turnaround from the people down at Keilor Park. I hear the place is really buzzing on and off the field. Well done to Marcus who seems to doing a great job.

Great Club and great people that are involved with the club. Always difficult when being relegated; but 3 and 1 is a great start.

I hear the club has received confirmation for "Drought Resistant" turf to be laid post-season 2008.

I also hear new jumpers are currently being designed for 2009.

Played A grade in both WRFL and EDFL, I think many of you would be very surprised with the standard of the good teams in the WRFL. No doubt the EDFL overall is a class above and this is due to the depth of the comp but the standard between the top sides is not a hell of alot different.

He lives on the other side of town and wanted to play with his brothers-in-law. He gave plenty of notice and keeps in regular contact with the EK boys. Class act.

East Keilor to win on the weekend, should have knocked off Glenroy a couple of weeks ago and signs were good last week. There is a massive difference betwee 1-4 and 2-3 ecspecially with Moonee Valley next week.

You answered your own question with us having no bench after half time, however your right in saying that we are dreaming about playing finals based on last weeks performance. I think were a better team than that and we will obviously find out this week if we are going to be a contender.....Cant wait for the rematch

Philpott is no Quinn but seems to be a huge factor in how Douttas go as they are not the tallest side going around. If he has done his hammy then Keilor's odds for tomorrow have shortened considerably.

Other than the Jets' games, it is nearly always toss of the coin which is good for the competition.
