EDFL Premier Discussion 2024

When i say a regular im referring to them being in the division and not getting relegated. They have failed to make the top flight in EDFL now for 2 years and by some way.

Cant compare the two comps, Keilor, Pacco would rinse Werribee Districts by 15-20 goals.
Avondale heights are a regular in premier too.

They never win anything, every comp has them types in the top flight

There should be a separate thread celebrating and deliberating Pat’s Legacy at EK.

The foundation of your senior sides should be 1 pointers who have been around the club for years. Both your senior and reserve side should be filled with 1 pointers so they can all be trained in the manor of the gameplan and have a next man up mentality.

Keilor, Strathmore, Pasoce Vale and Aberfeldie have stalwarts in their best 22s who you know will bleed for the club. The egglestones, the Vavras, the Watsons, O’Kearneys and Ellis’ of the league. That’s what Easy Keilor need. Form the skeleton and foundation of your side with 1-2 pointers that have been at your club for a number of years then top up with 2-5 recruits to fill the needs.

They’re very similar to the NFNL’s Bundoora. Good 19s = good senior sides. That’s the formula, i remember mighty mick telling me that at a pub years ago
Using Bundoora as an example is definitely not a good one. They have no juniors coming through, mass exodus last year, and having the senior coach go away during the silly season not being on site to promote the club to potential recruits was a strange move. Bundoora is in a world of hurt. Having the senior captain walk along with his super talented brother is just the icing on the cake.

Go check the trophy cabinet.
No doubt mate, i think they are top 4 next year.

my point is EDFL is a better comp then WRFL and much harder to sustain success without a strong junior program, There is no club like Keilor in WRFl where getting 5-6 injuries barely affects them as their depth is so strong.

If you recall caluzzi, laguda and campisi already left the club to cs and douttas… pretty sure Pat got them all back through his appointment no? So no surprise they have left again.

Dion had also left awhile back to St Albans at one point.

Therefore I wouldn’t call them puppets, instead of blaming them maybe put your disappointment to the appointment of arguably the worst coach in EDFL that they have appointed the sherminator lol.

They would of seen AFL player and assigned him without 0 research… if they did research he would not of been appointed and then a mass walk out may not of occurred.
I honestly don't think research would be needed when they had 8 interviews with various applicants and 7 of them decided to withdraw after they were confronted with the mess that Primetime Pat had left. Therefore the scraps being left to nibble on by the sherminator, there to collect his paycheck.

I noticed Shermo was at the Riddell GF on Sunday supporting Romsey reserves. I heard he was well liked at Romsey and did a lot around the club however for the outlay they didn’t get the results they were looking for. His problem will be recruiting players and good enough to play premier league. But possibly the football manager might be responsible for recruitment.

Trophies of relevance: 1.

Hope that doesn't include last year's EDFL trophy.
A club of their standing shouldn't be boasting about that.
That is the equivalent of Vermont or Heidelberg winning a second-tier flag in another comp.
It's worthy of a Grant Thomas/Lenny Hayes Wizard Cup celebration.

Which is seemingly how their WRFL flags are considered.
However, they're certainly no Heidelberg, Vermont etc so I'm willing to give them some credit..

Don’t compare WRFL to EDFL.

St Albans not making it out of Div1 but a regular in the highest Div in WRFL proves that.
St Albans lost probably one of the best players the wrfl has ever seen when they moved to the edfl in Tim Jenkins. Further to thgis St Albans had been a battling wrfl club for some time.

Reuben William. What a special player. Intercepting beast and one of mighty mick’s great soldiers. Dark day for Strathmore who never looked up to it. Hopefully ‘Jackie’ gets a run at the Pascoe Vale Hotel for the condolences.

Tudor v Mick. It comes down to this. The whisp and he’s viewing party will be there. Hopefully the weather picks up or else I’ll have to ask Mick for his coat. It’s my greatest student in Mick vs my best up and coming student in Tudor.
Did Rueben used to play at Wyndham vale in the wrfl?

Guy at work said today Nick Hind and Andrew Browne signed for Keilor next year . God help us
