yes they can marby are doing it. it takes a lot of hard work but you need to organise a great administration with an excellent business and football background. very hard to do but can be done. thats the only way these sides can become a contender.

its good for the seniors at marby, but if they were ever to win the grand final in b grade, they wont be able to move up to A grade, cos they need an under 18s side to move up

In reference to your belittling of Coburg 2s, while in general i agree that for the best part of the last 4 or 5 years they have been average they certantly have had some very good footballers.

In most part the occurance at Cobrug is that at the start of the season you will have a very strong list right down to number 45 but as the season goes on and younger guys learn there no chance of playing ones, they often pack there bags and head off for some coin. Some say culture and you may be right because Willy all these years gave gad extremley strongs 2s and have managed to keep them on board for 3-4 years at a time.

In regards to the comment about Ash Craig captaining a dud side. The last game Ash captained i actually played in and we had an extremley strong side. We had players like Warreb Carlyle,Brad Rayson,Daniel Roberts,Corey Brown,Ben Tremellen and Richmond players Daniel Sipthorpe,Kelvin Moore and Adam Gilmour who played. Our side was very strong that day. We did end up losing to Werribee 2s who where very very strong by about 4 or 5 goals. Dude i agree the for the best part the 2s at Coburg are weak but at times we had some real strong sides, 1 tome we actually rolled Willy at Punt Rd by 10 points.

Yep your right Allears, run em all into the ground. 100 hundreds at training every night, only 110% intensity from round one. Any slackers will be put in a circle and given the shane stremple treatment. Dont worry about september, its only rd one vs Hadfield that matters. All or nothing, no passengers.

Maybe thats the reason keilor get off to such good starts then seem to fade out late. In the finals this year there were many player injured. What about Rarbee and his ribs. The bloke was wearing a bloody bullet proof vest under there. But by your reasoning drop him, and get in a fit player. Clinnick couldnt even go up in the ruck come semi final day his stomach was so tender, zarahs knee was gone and i reakon micka was sick.

And in the grand final Thomas was wearing a mattress on his shoulder.

As for athas, yep your right again, he did weight 105 kgs. And it was a different player that lifted a gear come grand final day 2002 kicking seven on one leg.

Pretty sure micka james played with a very dodging ankle

I'm from Ballarat league.

Just wondering if any of you blokes can tell me about a Bonnici that has gone to Ballarat League from East Keilor i think??

Sorry a definate oversight, Zerafa would fit in before or after Athas. And everybody else would just move one down the list.

He made his was to the pine very quickly that day, and fully fit that would never happen. I couldnt tell what was wrong, i thought he may have been sick.

Very accompplished footballer.
I rate him highly and would be a great pick up if indeed he has gone there.

Bonnici is a little ball magnet with a great footy brain, but little is a major factor. Stands at 5 ft 3 and weighs 60kg.

Just physically and genetically impossible for him to beat any of the Premier on-ballers in the EDFL. Great kid and will be a good pick-up for Melton.
Have heard though he did sign a contract with the Cougars (before Shanks lured him) and this may keep him from being cleared.

The Douttas 2000 team were in A Grade Wook and it was 99 I am sure that won AGrade Flag and B Grade in 1998.
There B Grade 1998 was good, but not as good as G'Vales 02 and the Hts 04.

Bonici a very average player, cant kick over a jam tin and gets caught holding the ball way too often. As far as small ball winning players he is 1/2 the player little Mo is.

Yes my apologies it was 1998. I really think that your middle range players are of the upmost importance too. Okay to get recruits but you need a base to start with. And an oldir but a goodie is there is no i in team

I totally agree.

Big effort in 99 by Douttas winning back to back - B to A Grade.

Mastered by the Old Warrior Harro. One of his best coaching efforts ever.
Had them fit and firing and after 1win-3 losses coming into Rnd 5, a huge turnaround. Docherty was at his best that year and took the medal. Harro and M/Connell were also brilliant.
I think the Hts great team chocking may of assisted them.

There were a lot of REP teams. Anybody interested in doing an EDFL Rep team. 26 Players - Fit & Firing - Playing to win - Can be 1st Year recruits.

And Simon Lloyd trying to belt Dan Winkel was also a pleasure to watch. His brother was labelled the velvet sledgehammer his brother was called The velvet nothing.
Now that will be interesting 26 players where do you start?? Maybe we should start a dream team competition for the edfl!!!!!!!

bicer totora haoucher weston garbutt little albones j misiti bloomfield zeraffa c robinson i have seen them all play in last few years and they would all be high up if a rep side had been picked over last few years

Mate u must be joking, The year you are referring to is 2002 am i right? Sipthorpe Moore and Gilmour didnt play until 2003, and coburg rolled willy at coburg not punt road. Did you actually play for coburg or are you talking S*** i think u are talking sh**.

Your joking arent you, he struggled at the cannons and played a handful

of games! As for being in the top 50 in B grade, not a chance!

He is a good player and as he playing a coburg who didnt!

Mate, you don't know what you are talking about. Ash was one of the Captain's at the Cannons!

jacana's captain is... ull have to wait until Rd1 when u hear who it is or until Rd5 when you play them

Justin Mall is a good footballer, but as for Captain, he is behind a few blokes like Cam Jensen, Ben Pettit and Solider Boy.

So. Hts Top 10 in 2004 B Grade.
Ibrahim, Price, Costa, Janezic, Trewin, Koenig, Zamakyl, Farrugia, Eastway, Mastropasqua

Matty, make sure you add Zerafa to my list. Also guys like McLellan (a grade team of the year), oconner, abboud (captain), webber, corr, nunziato and sash made up the rest of the side.

Who do you think would win?

Personally i reakon g/vale would, as they had more players coming straight from vfl and younger better versions of garbutt and Athos. Their weakness was in the back six, but the ball never went down there so who would know.

Also heard a rumour that there is a hicup with Quinn transfer from the WAFL, with Claremont asking for a $10,000 transfer fee, as he is still contracted for season 2006. I know this has been raised before, but i heard free allegations last night.

Wookie, are you also forgetting the great Chris Tankard? (in my EDFL Team of the Decade)

Glenn MacLaren & J Pattison were also in the team from memory.

Matthew, were Avondale Heights undefeated in 2004?

I think Douttas lost 1 game in 98 by 7 points to Tulla.
