Strathmore dont need Injuries for it to be even. Most OVERRATED side i have ever heard. Yes they have some good players and are a well drilled side.

But they are not anywhere above the other 3 teams in the four last year.

Last year they won a Grand Final because other sides had too many injuries eg Avondale Heights, Keilor and Greenvale. All 3 of those teams with FULL sides are better then Strathmore in my opinion.

How can you say this. You are talking Kak mate. It comes down to the day and they were the better side on the day. They to had injuries and the last few years they have had some bad injuries where it has cost them in the finals. That's what football is about. Maybe they had very good players in there 2's that stood up where as the 3 other sides obviously had no depth.

anyone going along to keilor tonight hows west coburg looking will they be putting a strong team on the park is ash flavel playing woodend supposedly recruited well will be interesting to see how they shape up against edfl standards

Your a w***ker mate. Johnny Bell, Michael O'Brien were missing from the Grand Final side becuase of injury. Both would walk into ANY side. Steve McKeon was on one leg and they had no 'recognised' ruckman, and the Mores still WON! The Mores should've beaten Keilor by 10 goals in the prelim. They dominated the match.

mate,

Give me the number to ticketmaster 7

I need two tickets to your fantasy land ASAP.

Are you serious,

Strathmore are the yardstick, end of story,

If you don't understand why, rather than everyone going over it again, I suggest you look over the last 100 postings to see the discussion held on the quality thay have picked up.

If St Albans were only beating Hadfield by 6 goals at half time, I'm sorry to say, WRFL div 1 must be of a very poor standard. We can only hope that they beat them by 20 goals in the end.

edflman lets not get a head of our selfs it was the same time last year that port melb colts(wrfl)beat keilor by a few goals.would of been a lot more if colts did'nt play there 2nds in the last half.plus I don't think stalbans will be a finals team this year.

where is this money coming from? why dont they just look to there up and coming players? some of there up and coming players are pritty good and i dont see y they dont put there faith in them. if they dont put there faith in the talent they have in the 18's and those who r around 19 or 20 then they will lose them to other clubs. i know of players tht r in the 18's tht can play and r thinking of leaving strathmore because they dont think they have much of a chance there. stop buying the big names and use the names u have and turn them into big names.

i hope strathmore dont consider this coz i would love sum of the boys from the 18's to come and play at my club. these boys would leave coz they have connections at another club (not edfl).

Get serious. You can't get a game unless your at the club having a go. As for having faith in your own home grown, how about some of them having a bit of faith in themselves and pushing some of these so called certainties for senior spots. Two "home growns" have gone to a club that has over 20 new players listed as "ins" on the WRFL website. We don't hear a squeak about their locals getting a go. They probably just back themselves to be good enough!

Cant u handle other peoples opinion. Obviously you are involved or play at strathmore so are a little bias.

If you actually read what i wrote i didnt say they had ******** players or that they were ******** i said they were a good side but lucky.

In my opinion i saw them throughout the YEAR with a FULL SIDE and they were NOT the best side in the EDFL simple.

As for them beatin Keilor by 10 goals - Dont think that would have happened if Keilor had close to a full side. Taking into account football is football and injuries do occur for all sides!

You guys go on about strathmore's money maybe they should look at paying to get there ground re done, in short - IT'S A HOLE!

I actually follow Keilor Park, and they were the best side we played against.

Couple of games last night kicked off the night comp....if someone can update us on the results each night and how sides looked that would be great...!:thumbsu:

Seen the Hadfield Vs St.Albans game think St.Albans only won by 11 goals they had a heap more ball and scoring shots should have one by more. Hadfield had a few new faces.
David Crooks (Airport West)
Younger Sayers (Strathmore Reserves)
Tom Delany (Abers Reserves)

Geeze, what are Hadfield doing throwing money at these players for

Are they being payed a fair bit of cash, because i cant see why else they would want to go there for?

David Crooks? This bloke is a soft outside player which wont really be able to help Hadfield out too much... Why else would he be going there other than for money? Airport West are supposed to be one of the better sides this year so the only reason i could see him wanting to leave would be for money. He would surely be decent enough to of been a regular in Airport Wests side each week.

With the other two they are leaving reserve footy (even though it is A-Grade) to go and play in a senior side and get a bit of cash each week, but i would think most people would be interested in winning games more than anything else, which i think they will struggle to do at Hadfield.

Like someone said earlier... money talks. Disappointing.

Looking forward to Round 1, not too long away now.

Haven't heard much on Taylors Lakes.. anyone know how they are going?

Mate,
Before you go shooting your gob off, go back and read my post. Mark_boss reckoned that Strathmore were OVERRATED and that was my reply.

Next time read the post first before you go making a D%$Khead out of yourself.

Strathmore.... Strathmore.... Strathmore.....

Think we should all let the dust settle before claiming the mores have it in the bag.... A couple of injuries here, few internal rumblings there & a lack of hunger (ie ability to work hard) and they could be found out when it counts....

Recent EDFL history is full of hard working close units winning when it counts rather than the club that goes out and spends $$$$$$$ ... Granted the mores recruits seems good on paper but a number of other MARCH PREMIERS have fallen over including

Avondale 99
Abers / Oak Park (01)
Keilor 03
East Keilor (year after year)
Doutta (every 2nd year)

Last season the mores had great chemistry at the end of the year... got along really well alot of juniors.... All of sudden that feeling has dissapeared with 10-12 new players.....

did anyone else watch west coburg v woodend last night what the hell were west coburg thinking wearing yellow jumpers when woodend play in the hawthorn colours
