Hey G Train -

Help us brothers out and confirm or deny any of these rumours relating to the Douttas Camp.

  • The Boort lads - no chance or outside?
  • Will Elvy and Power come across from AH?
  • Will Turner leave?
  • Will you sack Dorazio - sips milk anyway.
  • Will "The Duck" play a few games.
Cheers and good luck champ.
For your info Macca.
  • The Boort Lads : outside chance - find out on the w/end
  • Elvy/Power : haven't been mentioned - not chasing them
  • Turner: will stay
  • D'orazio: little underrated - will be given an opportunity
  • The Duck: depending on schedules.
Thanks for the good luck mention.
Cheers

Just wondering if anyone can help - I was wondering if there was any penelties handed down from the Greenvale and Doutta final that had a 3rd qrt melee - 1st question - were spectators involved? 2nd question - what were the penelties to both clubs? I am doing work on another investigation and was interested to hear what penelties were handed down and what people thought of them

No spectators involved Doggy. 2 out of 30 involved in the melee reported and then reprimanded.
Tribunal suspended kids during the year for less serious offences.
Goodluck with the research, but the Doutta boys on here may be able to help you more with your report.

I am from the WRFl and my club was involved in a finals melee - and I am trying to see what happens in other leagues - does anyone know of other incidents - that included spectators??

I would be reluctant to use the EDFL tribunal as an exampl because it is common knowledge amongst most leagues just how much of a joke our tribunal is in regards to handing out suspensions.

yes dmac we will find out today/tonight sometime about the senior job at the sharks!!

its down to 2 people one from mornington league and the other from our comp.
i believe there are 3 votes on the selection panel and so far we are at 1 vote each after 2 voters have voted, so the last voting member has the final decision (which he said he would do by today).
thats what we are all waiting for now...that decision!!

whichever way it goes the sharks will be an improving team next year as both are good candidates.

stay tuned guys!

Is Robert Hyde coaching WC next year?

Gee, if they did get him, he would be able to tap into ex Calder Cannon players, to give them the 5-10 players they need to be very competitive in A Grade. Would be a top appointment for any club if he coaches again.

Spoke to someone from the mores last night, can anyone confirm Craig Hille spoke with Ezra Poyas during the week about playing there next year.
Big pick up if true.

There has been some talk about Ezra and also Phillip Read going to Strathmore but nothing has been confirmed, although i think Jordan Doering has been signed on to play there next year but can't be too sure.

Doering signed on as asst coach or something, if the other two sign just give them flag now and forget about next season, how can clubs compete with that.
Money talks lets hope it dries up sooner rather than later.

any news on player movements as yet? any truth to kp being a top side in 07?

Mr Controversy said:
I have no idea why but for some reason Dorazio cops a fair bake on here, the guy can actually play footy if you have seen him play before. it is extremely hard in the position he plays to get 30 touches a game especially when your playing in a side that has brilliant marking talent like carey in it. not to mention delivery more times that not is spot on.

he is very talented and he knows he hasnt had the best of years and ill guarentee you he will show you all next year what he is capable of.

Mr Controversy has spoken

who is this Dorazio bloke? where has he played his footy?

poyas is good mates with johnny lindsay and when he found out what kind of money the mores hand out he spewed he didn't go there for 06, i don't know if he will end up at strathmore or not but it wouldn't suprise me as he was almost gonna play at the colts when he first got back from overseas because of his friendship with lindsay and josh o'neill

Boy George said:

As for KP if i was to place a bet on them being top 4 or down the bottom half it would b the latter, yes they have Rioli as coach and he will bring some quality into the club but they were a long way off this year and whether he gets all these players everybody is talking about they have to make up alot of ground to catch the frontrunners in Strathmore, Greenvale and Douttas which i can't see happening in the space of the next 12 months. They will improve a fair bit though.

It isn't just Hille that puts money into the mores. They do have a committee that work hard on getting sponsorship as well, and just run the club well to make money so as they can pick up players. So maybe some of you knockers should get over the money issue cause it has been done to death. Concentrate more on supporting your own clubs and stop worrying about Strathmore.

Well said Vegas. My understanding is that they have close to 500 members. That is a big network of people associated with the club. Hille is one man, there would have to be many more behind the scenes helping out to make the Mores successful.

Probably need to wait until Clubs have had their AGM's and then officially appoint coaches for player movements to start happening. Late October to December we should start to see more action within the League.

i have no idea what sort of money was paid at strathmore this year. it must have been enormous. many have said well over $200K. but DONT Dr Jack... try telling us that hille is not the reason for strathmore being such a dominant team this year. take away his cash and stathmore are at least back on even pegging with the other sides in the top four. i acknowledge that strathmore has developed itself a big network of supporters and sponsors but lets not forget that the reason why they are there. Hille has bought some terrific players (harvey, winter, quinn, barnards, and now doering and maybe pyas and read) who have brought success to the Mores and THAT is the reason. when he leaves, so will the top notch players as understandably seek the most money they can and the EDFL unfortunately will drop in standard and become more even. It is great to see a bloke become so involved in a club, its just a shame all clubs dont have a hille. when he goes, this competition may just become a competition again.
