The only thing it’s changed is recruiting strategies. Instead of chasing 24 year olds with big $$$

Now chasing 12 year olds parents with all sorts of rubbish promises..

It’s only part of the fix. Need to regulate junior competitions and invest in development programs across the entire league ..the EDFL can step in and support all clubs… then the points system will have its intended impact

The EDFL need to grow a set and limit junior teams to two in each age group. It will upset the big boys but stiff, to is the EDFL, not the KSAPVDFL!

Well it isn't going to happen when clubs at the bottom have the same amount of points as clubs who have been in Premier for years. They are limited to the amount of players they can bring in to get them under the cap and competing against premiership teams playing who are on 26-28 points. There is no way in hell anyone but the top five will win a flag in Premier in the next 10 years.

And they can get rid of the "loyalty point reductions after one year" crap.
Players shouldn't have their points reduced until they are into their third or fourth season.

Why Keilor can win?

Silly Question. They have consistency all over the park with a dozen players you could name as their most important. Batman and robin in the midfield in O’Kearney and Ellis, Willaims down back and crafty forwards such as Kosmas and Colenso as well as swingman Petric who took the game away from the griff. Mick was far too good post half time and made structural changes that commanding respect and attention in the premiership quarter last week, giving Tudor the hint to have contingency plans in place for what mick has up his sleeve. Their ability to win the contested ball, have first possession post clearance was the difference last week and to gain territory from those statistics cause headaches for Nick Ash and his boys. Their full ground defense will give the panthers something to think about.



Why Pascoe Vale can win?

Trump Cards. Tudor has a chnace to make history and here is how. Stillman and Stedrick are able to steady the ego heavy list and command the best from their teammates. Iacobaccio is a superb forward who chase excellence by clean ground work and zippy play to make their mark. Ahern roaming the ground with his aura and presence is second to none. Matthew Watson will play well wherever Tudor plays him - he has the trait to win the game off his own boot. The joker in the deck however is Ahmed Saad. He is a freak. On one leg, he can do no wrong and poses a threat to whoever is the poor soul that has to go toe to toe with the great one. Trump cards galore, they will need the bottom five players to stand up to keilor’s to have a fair crack. They did it a fortnight ago, can they do it again.



It will be either a Keilor smashing or a Panther win in a nailbiter.

Best on ground: O’Kearney

Premiers: Keilor by 37 points

Loyalty is not one year's service.
Loyalty is completing multiple seasons, as in "remaining loyal".

The smaller clubs with less juniors could always ask for extra points.

Not if the league puts in place resources to support all clubs with junior development and sponsorship ensuring good junior participation across the footprint of the competition. If they’re serious about equalisation go all the way.

A points system without all clubs having solid junior foundations is a waste of time.

The EDFL have the funds available to develop junior programs. The only reason you wouldn’t want to see this happen is if you’re from a club with 3-4 junior teams in each age group while a club up the road has none. Good for you. But if people weren’t losing interest in local footy already leaving things how they are will slowly kill off any of the ones still hoping for some common sense..

Whose your tip to win it?

Hansen, Muratore and Gentile would of polled off Young.

Laguda, Nayef and Zen probably polled off Matty.

Feel Young was probably the most influential this year but umpires have a habit of having no idea and just voting for the biggest person they can see hahah. Then again Young is the size of a ruckman also so should be good!

Watching the reserves stream and good effort from a water person running water in thongs. Well done

Gee reserves standard has dropped remarkably over the years. Yes more like under 23 comp. Miss the old days of a couple of veterans running around doing the heavy stuff.

Strathmore undefeated premiers of 18.5 if I’m correct. Great effort.
Good effort from Pacco to get there from 4th and go above the likes of Keilor & Abers.

Still see the top 18.5 clubs dominate senior footy also. Could we see Marby challenge next year?? Its a tough landscape the 18.5 comp..

Have regularly played finals in seniors for a number of years now, but their reserves and 18.5’s had usually finished well down the ladder. Won 18.5’s last year, and runners up this year. And their reserves also played finals this year. Plus seniors of course are playing in 1st Premier GF today.

Great effort by the club across the board. Good luck in the main game.

Reserves GF must be an enthralling contest.

Mate the reserves unfortunately is only for family and club orientated people as the standard is horrendous. There used to be 6-7 players you could say were senior quality in either premier, div1 or lower leagues but no struggling to find even 2 who you would chase..

I’d argue that half the blokes playing today would walk into a Div 1 or Div 2 senior side
