True, but it's the long term effects of the injury that could be concerning- which obviously we will look into with due diligence but from the outside there is no way to know!

Hepp did have a bunged knee I think tho? Hes been a raging success..
Nah there were rumours Heppell had OP, but that was a load of rubbish. Early in his junior career he apparently had injury issues but obvs hasn't affected him.

If we were to get Parish and Francis (the former looks increasingly unlikely with Melbourne now having selection three), I'll be doing some serious, continuous naked cartwheels.

4: Parish
5: Weideman
24: Burton
25: Ah Chee

Burton a chance, can't see Ah chee sliding that far.

No Francis?

Rate him, and I've got absolutely no qualms if we take him but my thing with Francis is that while I actually rate him as the 2nd best player in the draft, he's sort of an everywhere man, and we don't really need to be spending a top 5 pick on a medium defender in the same way we didn't need to have 3 of the top 10 key defenders in the league playing in the same backline.

Funnelling assets if you will, same reason people were suggesting we trade Ryder or Bellchambers out for a gun mid.

It's why 3 of the 4 are forwards in that scenario, that's where we need the class and the cattle. Although you could always draft Francis with the intention of playing him forward so there's definitely ample options at our disposal.

I see Francis as somewhere between B.Goddard and N.Buckley. As a defender he reminds me of Goddard and as a forward he's a bit like Buckley. I think under an afl training program he could also spend some time in the midfield in a Buckley/Hird kind of role.

I'm keen for the Francis/Parish duo. Here's hoping Melbourne take Curnow

We just need to nail 4 and 5.

Thomas and Pendles
Roughy and Buddy
Riewoldt and Kochie

Just sets you up for 10 years if you can nail it.

It would be devastating if you pick up an injury prone player or a vanilla type player.

I hope Dodo is locked up until the trade period is finished. To stop him from wasting away picks we hold like Cooney pick last year. He has earned his pay this year.

Treating trading like stock market sell high, buy low means we should be keeping Melksham as his stocks are at an all time low at present. I'm a massive critic of Melksham but he's the kind of player if traded for a 2nd or 3rd rounder can burn you at another club.

I did mention about selling "high"...wasn't expecting 25 for Melksham though!

stringer, macrae.
Francis and Parish has that feel about it.

But then you look at o'rourke and plowman. 2&3.
Hoskin-Elliot & Buntine were 4&5.
Good ole SOS

To be honest, I'd rather Curnow then Weideman. He can easily be one of the best in this year's draft.

Francis and Curnow would be the best result for us IMO.

Obviously one of Parish, Weideman, Francis and Curnow will not be available at our pick, but assuming that all 4 would be available at pick 4, I'd go:
1. Francis
2. Curnow
3. Weideman
4. Parish

With pick 4 and 5, my preferred picks would be:

Francis, Curnow
Francis, Weideman
Francis, Parish
Parish, Curnow
Parish, Weideman
Curnow, Weideman

In other words, I think Francis is the best player out of the 4, Parish the safe option, Curnow the high risk/high reward type and Weideman a good key forward that will partner up with Daniher.

Can you go into just a little more detail please? ;)
