Match ups obviously huge - Hooker to Kennedy as he has the size to match, and Ambrose & Francis to double team Darling. Not sure Hurley will play but lets hope so because even if he's not 100% he's so important directing traffic down back and we are much better off with him out there.
I think the INS & OUTS are pretty obvious, and if the players that are coming in are fresh and more importantly hungry then we are not without a chance.

I think it will be like for like changes as we did OK against the Pies just lacked some quality - the players coming in can bring that:

OUT: Begley, D.Clarke, Jok, Hartley
IN: Stringer, Heppell, Fantasia, Hooker

Line up;-

Gleeson Hooker McKenna
Ambrose Francis Saad
Parish Merrett McGrath
Tippa Brown Laverde
Stringer McKernan Fantasia

Bellcho Heppell Shiel

Bench: Redman, Langford, Ham, Hurley - (only on bench as not sure he'll play)

I've got a funny feeling Laverde will have a break out game as a pseudo centre half forward - not sure why....but lets hope so.
Bombers by 22 points..!!

It's hard to see us winning, though last year's game against them over there last year provides a glimmer of hope.
Difference between last year and this year I think is last year we tore them a new one from hb. This year Hutchings tagged Saad. We need some kind of plan to deal with that, maybe someone to roll back and provide a plus one. McGrath, even Ham with some pace.

Hutchings is injured and most likely won’t make it for the final.

First born due the day before. Wonder how watching on my phone at the hospital during labour would go down. Frowed apon no doubt 👎I really feel like nothing can stand in my way but probably as misguided as my belief the we got this..
You'll remember that day forever. My boy was born the same day we beat Melbourne in 2009. I've had a soft spot for Melbourne ever since. Good luck!

the more I think about it, the more I think we're in a decent spot. IF we can beat WC, and if the Hawks can ****ing do it, then we play the loser of Gee/Coll, in Melbourne, which is eminently winnable. Then we play the loser of Rich/Bris, so either a Melbourne prelim, or Brisbane who we beat this year, and who could well be cooked by then.

I don't mind this scenario at all.

And we can definitely beat WC. NicNat isn't 100% and neither has Kennedy been. We should be able to get our share in the middle and we should see the ball hitting the deck in our d50. I think we'll need a +1 behind the ball to help release Saad and McKenna. Also wouldn't be against rotating either up on to a wing.

I like all of this except the omission of D. Clarke. That said, not sure who I'd drop from that list. Maybe one of Langford or Laverde. Probs Langford.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Hepp definitely playing apparently (sen). Hurley maybe.

Intersting listening to King. They played Macevoy full back spoiling everything then had guys like frawley Chopping off leads. Not a bad tactic.

Saad Hurley McKenna
Shiel Merrett Long
Brown Smack Walla
Langford Stringer Baguley

I think we can match them in contested ball and results have shown that if you can match them there they are vulnerable.

We just have to have a forward presence though, too many games we have lost because we have zero targets and bomb to the spare or intercepted markers.
It's why Richmond thrash us every single time, we lose all structure forward of the ball.
I really like the idea of Ambrose playing forward to help with this and to keep them accountable.

Anyone have any advice on getting tickets? Never been to an interstate final!

My only change is Clarke stays in for either Hams or Langford.

Our " surprise" will be Smack kicking his 5th after the siren for a 3 point win. I might be over hopeful on this game, but I am not ready to hibernate just yet.

View attachment 733701You look at the stats from the WC v Hawks game and it’s all pretty even.

How did they beat them?

By piling on the pressure in their F50 and harassing the WC backline and not letting them have their merry way taking it out.

Finals pressure.

Seek and destroy.
That's exactly how Richmond beat them too.
You guys are a big chance.
