Season 2 Good Job GIF by Rick and Morty

Impressive resilience and some good structural composure.
Hayes and Weid were superb in what I saw.
Lual shows excellent movement and improved ground positioning but he won’t get a go until he sures up his kicking.
Jayden has a bit more x-factor than his brother which is exciting.
My tongue-in-cheek call for Wanganeen to be turned into a back pocket a year or 2 back might prove to be a prescient moment. Showed a bit I thought with the game in front of him.
El-Hawli will make the grade - sooner rather than later.
I think Shiel had a bit of work put into him by the Blues but his dynamism is lacking.

Might be some changes if the guys dont get the job done today

El Hawli, Caddy and maybe even Bryan

Did Shiel get tagged?
Yes they ran a hard tag on Shiel .😎

With he wash up of the AFL almost done, the VFL probably lost its magic in the 41 point deficit the young group turned around.

Saad El-Hawli easily our best with 27 + 4 goals playing predominantly wing. Without being at the ground, seemed to cheat a lot and get forward using his aerial prowess to take strong contested marks resulting in shots on goal. What appeared to be a knee injury turned out to be an ankle knock that should be rested over the next few days. Wont be long until we see him in the AFL.

Nick Bryan once again dominated the hitouts (39), his link up play was on show again as he once again got 20+ possessions. I see him take a contested mark and think "yes, he's turned a corner" and that'll be the only one he takes for the game. He is what he is. Use his strengths at AFL level or he looks elsewhere at years end is the way I see this story playing out.

Lual got a bit of the ball (19) but turned I over a fair chunk of the time. Looks to play ahead of time in his mind, slow down to speed up.

Dylan Shiel. 1 possession inside the firs 60 seconds for one goal was the highlight of an underwhelming first quarter. 18 on the day in another display that shows he looks disinterested and checked out.

Alwyn looks so much better higher up the ground. Looked to have picked up the pace of the game after half time and was a big contributor to us getting back into the match. 16 disposals, a goal, 4 tackles. A nice well rounded contribution.

Weidemann, solid. No more, no less. Took some big marks against a largely undersized, inexperienced Carlton (VFL) fwd line.

Nate Caddy. Another almost game. Took some huge marks, went missing for large parts, kicked 3 but missed 2. Can see what he will become when it all comes together. As others have mentioned, he blew up in large parts so fitness still a work in process. Wont be disappointed if he played the year out in the VFL with the odd match at AFL level. to dominate.

Lewis Hayes, a bit of a nothing game. Kicked well, intercepted a couple of times but didn't have much to do.

Wanganeen in a new role off half back was interesting. Without seeing at the ground, wouldn't be surprised if someone at the game can confirm he got lost on transition that resulted in some easy goals for Carlton. That running goal to pu us in front was brilliant. Stay fit and you can see a player in there.

Jayden kicked 2 and gave us some spark. Much like Alwyn, use pace more and try to be more physical and you can see an AFL player in there.

Roberts was carry over for the AFL game

Visentini was hardly sited in a rough day for an inexperienced big man

Of the VFL contingent, 23rd man Ryan Brodie from Strathmore showed a bit in his second game (16d, 4m) whilst Xavier O'Neill came to life after half time to lead us to victory. Foley again another solid day whilst defender turned forward Will Hoare took a couple of really nice strong contested marks up forward. Smartt disappointing again, wouldn't surprise me if he is dropped soon.
