Autopsy Elimination Final: Western Bulldogs v Adelaide

I find I amusing how everyone talks about how young the WB are however the Crows are pretty young as well

Sure, but the difference last night came on the form of experienced players in their prime - Dangerfield, Walker, Jacobs, Betts, Sloane etc. The Doggies have very few of those, and their best players are very young.

Great game from Sloane hes first quarter was top notch really good hands under pressure.

Not sure many spotted it - even the commentators missed it - but Sloane's "quick hands" to whoever kicked that goal (sorry, it was #45, not sure who that is) was a one hander. Last quarter, on the edge of the square.

Very quick, very clever, and I'm not complaining cos it happens in every game. But it's not something any player is likely to get away with twice.

Although, I wouldn't mind if he gets away with it 10 times against Old Hodgey's snipers.

The dogs aren't actually that young, we are slightly older but they really aren't the youthful prodigy people Mark them out to be.

Edit: actually just did the math we played a younger side on the night

A. Depends on the angle you see it. It looked like a throw on the big screen last night but watching the replay today it looked like he might have got a hand to it.
B. Dogs had some blatant throws that didn't get called, where the umpire just said "I couldn't see it"
C. I acknowledge your point about it happening every game and yes, agree you're not complaining, but I had some feral supporters around me who weren't as level headed.
D. I cannot wait to put Hodge in his place.

One of those that the congestion (and it being finals) probably saved a throw call in the end. Was a good bit of play though from both sides with the desperation.

People have Bulldogs as the youthful prodigies due to a good portion of their stars are in that 19-23 range, they deserve the tag.

Much like us, they have 2-4 experienced, old heads around the place to help out the lineup.

That's my point they have no leaders in the 25-27 range for the future. Take out one of Murphy 33, Boyd 33 and they don't have the same season. Morris 32 and picken 30 have also been some of their best players. Minson who is also 30 was also very good last night.

You do realize people get older every year right?

By the time that midfield core gets to that 25-27 range, and assuming Beverage/whoever expands on that all out attack style, they'll be a team that will do a lot of damage in September.

Hopefully that game was the prelude to what should be a good mini-rivalry with both of our sides on that upwards trend.

I did my own calculations and didnt take months I to account.

Fair enough, two months is nothing though.
Well you mentioned earlier we had 4 blokes into their 30s.. pretty staggering really that we only average 85 games of experience with 4 blokes in the side who have played over 200 games each.

Definite throw - you guys got away with a blatant one as well, not to mention the Mackay legging.

I thought the umpiring was pretty shit house.
