12 goals in 8 games. Terrible return for a guy who is meant to be the spearhead of a premiership threat. Luckily for them though they have another couple of guys who can find the big sticks.

On a side note Donno has 38 goals in the same amount of matches for Beaconsfield.

Rotating through high half forward and deep. Doing alot of the contested work allowing others to get crumbs or be an option.Balraj is doing his job well.

Yeh Donno seems to be doing well, 38 goals for beacy this year. Even kicking goals when beacy have a bye.... fair effort!

So you'd be happy to be paying a bloke $1500 a week to provide a contest across half forward then? Peerrrlease. He's not doing his job well at all, a bloke on that sort of coin is there to win you matches which he isn't doing at the moment. Might as well pay a local basketballer $50 a game to do the same thing.

$1500 x 8 / 12 = $1000

If Balraj is on $1500 a game he is currently going at $1000 per goal. That is provided he is creating the crumbs free of charge.

Yeh $1500 a week would be right seeing our base wage is $500. We also have a hash crop behind the clubrooms,3 fulltime drug runners floading the Sth Eastern suburbs and a pill press.

But you would already know all this as you are on the inner sanctum of the club yeh....

P.s im not paying the bloke so i couldnt care what he is on.As long as he can contribute in trying to win a flag...

Crumbs are free of charge inside the forward 50. Its $25 for a contested,2 handed crumb outside the arc...

Of course i don't know what he is on, it was just a figure I threw out there to get my point across. From what I can gather, he don't play for anything less than 4 figures, so whatever it is, it's a lot for a bloke who's giving you minimal output.

Yes he might contribute to a premiership and that would be a great result, i just think its a waste of money. You could get 4 players better than him for that. As i said, you could get any tall bloke to create a contest for you.

Dusties are a genuine threat from what I saw on the weekend.

Their ruckman and midfield were clearly the best we have come up against this year. And they have a couple of star forwards in Brewster and Santo as well.

Only thing is I reckon their backline looked a little bit weak and would struggle to hold a good forward line like Cora Lynn.

Hey surkin how is the dude that got knocked out goin? Looked pretty bad when it happend. Our 2's coach ended up with a broken hip after the massive collision in the 2's. Ya should also add Shane Ingham to the forward line list, kicked 3 in the last term to take the game away. Get Matt Willis back prob this week to bolster our back line. Langy just wouldnt go away during the 1's game. The lil dude that looks like Ben Nason in the 2's tore us apart.

The guy that got knocked out is fine. Apparently he was out cold though and didn't wake up until he was in the rooms. Copped a bit of stick of the boys when he was walking around in the rooms afterwards.

I didn't see the hit on your captain but from all reports it was massive. Hope he makes a good recovery. The guy with the dredlocks has played most games in the ones so good to see him dominate down in the twos.

Heard some rumours about Tooradin, Phillip Island and Killy Bass enquiring about coming into the EDFL and creating a 2 division comp. Also the vote was 7-7 for garfield and Ellinbank suprisingly voted garfield in, their reason being we are getting close to a 2 division with 15 clubs.

You heard anything about this at league meetings plugger??

18 teams is awesome for two divisions.

With 9 in a division, you play each other 2 twice and have 2 byes. Perfect.

SOUTH WEST GIPPSLAND FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Tooradin
Island
Killy Bass
Nar Nar Goon
Lang Lang
Koo Wee Rup
Garfield
Catani
Cora Lynn

ELLINBANK & DISTRICT FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Nyora
Nilma Darnum
Dusties
Buln Buln
Ellinbank
NNS
Longwarry
Bunyip
Poowong

Perfect. And the leagues don't change for 4397543 years.

Um why do you have KWR in a different league to LL, Catani and CL? And Nyora in a different league to Poowong?

I think the only way for the league to work with 18 teams would be to have a division 1 and division 2 with promotion/relegation. Really adds to the competition when there is relegation. Means there is lot more to play for for the bottom teams at the end of the season.

Would have to be promotion/relegation because the standards of teams changes so much in our league, look at Nilma and Nyora over the last 2 years. NNS would have to start in the higher division assuming they play finals this year.
Based on this season it would be

Tooradin
NNG
Cora Lynn
Catani
Garfield
Dusties
NNS
Phillip Island
Lang Lang, KWR or Nyora

Yep, sorry surkin. KWR & Nyora should swap.

The differences in the teams would even out over time. It might be shit for 3-4 years, but who cares? Just let it be, and put this bullshit to bed. There are always going to be strong teams and weak teams, happens in every league, they deal with it. It only seems to be a problem in Gippsland because everyone whinges so much. As soon as you are too good or too shit for the league, everyone calls for your head. Team quality ebbs and flows. Deal with it.

Heard straight from Rodger Gwynne's mouth last week that before he leaves his post as president, he will accept enough new clubs into the league to form 2 divisions. And yes, Bass, P Island and Tooradin are on the EDFL's must have list
