I heard he saw this image in the Courier Mail and became really concerned:

Some serious water hazards there.

I feel for you guys, but at the same time super glad to get Yeo.

You could take some solace in the fact that you got a better pick than you spent on him, and much of the WCE BF thread thinks we got bent over by your negotiators.

I hope you can fix up whatever it was that prompted these players to bail - there's no way it was all homesickness.

No solace whatsoever. His initial draft position is irrelevant. Much of the WCE BF thread must be idiots if they thought they got bent over. His real value is that of a top 15 pick this year.

Give me what you're all smoking. Better pick than what, pick 30? He's a jet and you guys got a bargain. Piss off.

haha i can sell you some if you like.

I think he's worth the pick (28) that we gave you. I genuinely do feel sorry for Brisbane supporters (not trolling) as i'd be mighty pissed if we had 5 players bail.

I think the WC board has now come to accept that he's worth 28, but there were some hissy fits when we gave you 28 instead of our pick 31.

That was more because of a perception that we have been too nice at the trading table in recent years.

IF the other 4 had gone and Yeo had stayed I doubt any Lions person would have even cared that much at all. WC very lucky to have him.

Its probably been said many times, but why do players always get "homesick" in Brisbane, but no Queenslanders playing interstate ever get home-sick !!

2013 Review - by POBT

This one hurt. As a second year player playing 19 games in 2013, Yeo looked every bit a 200 gamer in the making. His decision to leave the Lions at the end of the 2013 was a significant blow to the club's development.

Unlike his mates in the go-home 5, Yeo was clearly a best 18 player, playing a role across half back most weeks. In that role, he played on small or medium forward types, with his pace and athleticism allowing him to go with most opponents. But he showed promising dash and run too, able to break the lines and get through the defensive zone.

His main weakness at this point is his decision making and ball use, particularly by foot. He doesn't always take the right option in his disposal. Further, he can tend to float his kicks. This might be what prevents him from becoming a truly elite footballer.

However, it won't stop him from playing a lot of senior footy for West Coast. At worst, he will stay as he is - a very talented half back flanker who can stop an opponent and give some rebound. At best, he will push upfield as a true wingman or even onballer, with his height and agility proving to be a difficult match up.

That's all I can bring myself to write. Bugger it.

Or a modern day midfielder who kicks goals, Must hurt seeing him playing so well in the West I feel for Brisbane but at least Taylor is a ripper too

I definitely prefer Taylor. Happy he is playing well for you and I am sure you are happy but Taylor seems more of a leader, will be as significant a player and more mature a person which is what we need in a frontier market. Not many players have the character to stay when they we not worshipped in the streets. It's a different market.

Can hang on only to those who want to stay. At least we got a good one back.
