I read that he wanted to play for the Sydney Swans, but even if it were possible I'm not sure he'd be the type of player we'd need at the moment.

If Yarran is on Freo's radar, he may well also be on the Eagles?

That would throw a fox into the chicken yard!

If it happened, Yarran to the Eagles, who would Freo take, Naitanui or Rich?

Rich > Freo
Natanui > Port

Reason? Freo need midfielders more than ruckmen and Port's ruckmen are aging (Lade) while they still have solid midfielders (Boak, Pearce, Cornes and Burgoyne).

dam no mention of who Port are likely going to draft at #4 :(

Tyrone Vickory mentioned that he spent quite a bit of time talking to Choco. But so did alot of players I suppose, but it did seem strange that he singled out Choco. Possibly a longer interview then what other clubs gave him.

it's rumoured that the recruiting staff rate Naita number 1. It's also well known that Harvs wants midfielders

I think we are happy to sit back and take whoever is left

Emma speaks to club recruiters all the time. She was at the DC. It is more than conceivable that she either spoke to someone at Freo, spoke to another club who were aware of what freo were thinking or she saw Harvey and Smart talking to Yarran for 40min outside under a tree.

and what motivation have any of the recruiters for telling Emma Quayle what they really think?

Most recruiters and coaches love to have a yarn. Obviously wont say "pick 4 we want X, pick 22 we want Y". Might just rattle off some names they are looking at. Which the journo could probably have guessed anyway.

But I think you'll find that people like Quayle and Matt Burgen dont get their info directly from recruiters but members of other clubs recruiting staff (who know what the other is thinking) who speak to players, junior coaches, families and thus know which club has been most interested in who.

Unlike most journo's, Emma actually get's out there, and has a look at the kids, and also talks to the clubs. If she thinks a certain player might go to a particular club, it's likely to be because she has actually been given that information by someone who is in the know, or because she has asked the right question.

There were far to many 'mights' there for my liking. Can anyone honestly say that she said anything that most of us don't already know?

When asked, all the players say that Choco gives the toughest interviews.

I like Emma Quayle as a journo, but why did she mention a ruckman could slip through to one of our Carlton's picks when we're after Warnock?

We may not land Warnock yet, depends how much hard ball Freo play... so if we miss out on him a ruckman could possibly come into play, even though its aslightly unlikely scenario in my opinion.

Vickery is not going to come good for about 3 years you would imagine. All young ruckman take time so even if they did land Warnock there would not be an issue with them having Vickery as well. Someone like Leuenberger who was massively rated is still nowhere near it yet even though he has been in the system two seasons. It took McIntosh about 5 years and from my club it took Hille about 8 years.

Next season their ruck stocks could possibly be :

1st ruck - Warnock
2nd ruck - Cloke or Hampson
Developing - Vickery
Kreuzer learns the caper at CHF

Then in about 4 years when Kreuzer and Vickery have matured theur talls could possibly be :

1st ruck - Warnock/Hampson
2nd ruck - Warnock/Hampson/ Vickery
Tall forwards - Vickery/Kreuzer/Fevola

Remember in 4 years time Fev will be 31 so its not out of the question that Vickery/Kreuzer could be the forward dup by then either.

I can't see Carlton taking another athletic ruckman with pick 6 and 24 if we don't get Warnock.

I wouldn't use pick 24 on a ruckman.

The Blues wouldn't be after Warnock if there were rucks with his talent and size available in the second round.

Three developing rucks on a list is a nonsense.

I would rather upgrade Jacobs as a short term fix or grab White than spend pick 6 or 24 on a ruck.

and where is the link between essendon and yarran? essendon need a defender or gun midfielder. yarran is neither.

who knows, i said going off that article

typical ****en Essendon supporter, not in market for match winners are you?

nah you have heaps already????????

you got ......

ahhh

Ry....

Lloyd!

he'll be round for years

there's obviously more match winners at essendon than there is at port given essendon won more games this year.

tredders...give it away before you embarass yourself any further.
