I don't see why Australia couldn't have 1 test in Hobart against Ireland as part of the Ashes series. But what's the actual reasoning behind it? We should be playing six tests a summer to give Hobart a go every year.

There is a test in Canberra next summer instead of Hobart. Sri Lanka are coming out for a couple testsBut what's the actual reasoning behind it? We should be playing six tests a summer to give Hobart a go every year.
I’m fragile........Geez I was just trying to be supportive....
It's an oddity of Test cricket that crowds tend to drop off as the match progresses, when it's often getting more interesting. Most people only allocate one day to go and day 1 is the hype day. It's a piss poor crowd at the Gabba today considering it's a Sunday and the test is in the balance.
They can't really complain if they took a test off them next year.

We'll play a second opponent for 2 tests, the only time we haven't played at least 5 tests per summer in recent years was when we had the World Cup here.
I'm a big fan of you guys getting test status, but there's no chance of that happening. You guys will end up in the same category as Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, only away tests.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry that the lead trending hashtag on this site is #inmarshwetrust
Aren’t there supposed home and away tests over a specified period
Look, I just wanted to have a go at India.
