My only problem with Villa is apart from Bent who can score goals for them. Blackburns defence seems ok so I think it'll be a 0-0 draw.

And yeah thats why I highlighted my Spurs bias. 90% heart, 10% head for that game. :) I'm ok with my bias most of the time but I can't be with my irrational hatred of Man Utd.

Yeah, very valid concern. Bent top scored for them in the league last year with 9, and that was half a season. Young had 9 in all comps, Downing 8. Then came Heskey and Albrighton. It's not exactly an awe-inspiring list after Bent. N'Zogbia scored 9 in the league last year as well.

I still think this is a game where they'll be good enough to craft at least one.

And no hatred of United is ever irrational.

You did beat Rovers 4-1 at Villa Park though, and they lost 2-1 to McLeish at St Andrew's.

In fact you only lost 4 home game, 2 of which were Arsenal and Spurs so it's not the worst home record. 7 home draws though.

It's more the draws I was refering to, we regualary draw with relegation candidates at Villa Park when we couldn't break them down when they parked the proverbial bus. It's a new manager and all that, but we also have less of an attacking threat this season. Also agree 0-0 has a decent chance. But if I play anything for this game, it will be Villa clean sheat.

But now I remember, we have good history against Blackburn, IIRC we beat them in all league games and knocked them out of both cups.

I'd forgotten about the cup games. The league head to heads are all over the shop with both teams winning and losing at home and away. Only one draw in the last 12 in the league though (07/08 at Villa Park).

Once he gets settled, I think Nzogbia + Bent could be a pretty deadly duo for Villa.
Think we'll see some of this against Rovers. Nzogbia will have a field day down the left like Wolves did a week earlier. Im confident Villa can win this game and will have a nibble at $1.73.

Also liking Sunderland to take the 3 points. They looked very good in the 2nd half against Liverpool whereas Newcastle created absolutely nothing even when Arsenal went down to 10 men. The draw looms a real possibility though as has been a common amongst these two, so I'll take Sunderland -0.25 @ 1.85 for a bit of insurance.

Oh EPL <3 how i've missed you.

Keeping a record this year. (y)

Should be a good season! Gunners looking nice after losing Fabregas,Nasri (about to), Clichy, Eboue and Gervinho + song Suspended

Will put my bets up before the games..

Good luck fellas :thumbsu: :D

Only doing simply stuff for the first couple of weeksto get a feel for each team (especially newly promoted).

Everton
Chelsea
@$1.90
yep, good bet. although Everton seem to occasionally (far more than they should) drop weird points at home. not the most reliable team for 'safe' betting.

Our game versus Liverpool tonight has draw written all over it. I would say 0-0 or 1-1 the most likely outcomes. Liverpool never attack at the Emirates and Arsenal lack any attacking flair other than RVP. Both teams are just no good.

Just the one play for me, just don't trust teams this early in the season and will wait for some formlines etc

2u >4.5 cards in Newcastle vs Sunderland @ 1.83

local derby, always firey.

Tempted to take some of Arsenal @ 2.50.

not much of a soccer head, but can't believe that this is the play. arsenals entire defense has either been sold / injured, even including song who doesn't start. So moving into the real dregs of the backs. Then gervinho misses after last weeks send off, and to top all that off a few blokes are backing up after wednesday so will be tired. if anything liverpool has value for mine, especially with draw no bet

I think I'll take liverpool DnB as well

I'm a villa supporter so have seen them throw away too many home games against shit oposition last season. Am tempted by the clean sheet option there though.

Will also look at the over/under line for total cards in the northern derby.

quoted from yesterday just for you twarbs :p

so not stolen which I know you are implying

Over 3.5 @ 3.14 (2x)

Rangers V Motherwell 6 - 0
Motherwell V Rangers 1 - 4
Rangers V Motherwell 4 - 1
Rangers V Motherwell 3 - 3

Also -
